I was there...Section J, Row 6, seat 11...but went out to the RF lawn every time Clement came to bat...got two signature, one on an MLB ball, and one on a Bark in the Park ball with other teamates...Jeff's a good guy, it was well worth the drive from Edmonds. I was too broke to afford $1 hot dogs though...hahaha... I might have seen some people there, but I wouldn't know, this is my first kinda USSM event I've been to...I was in a Beltre Jersey, M's hat, and had a lefty mitt on. Loved the articles in the Mag...read them in the dragging middle innings...great work guys!

Whee! Clement DH'ed and got a hit in his first atbat. He has a really sweet swing, and nearly hit one over the centerfield wall at one point. Also, he was super-nice and signed a bazillion Bark in the Park baseballs for us all after the game.

I didn't realize the Aquasox printed magazine was 90% Derek and Dave articles. :)

Conor Glassey and I were both at the game, but I don't think I saw any other USSM folk, unless Super Reader Paul Covert was sitting in the very very first row behind home plate? I thought I recognized him, wasn't sure.

It was a good game, anyway. Cory Koliscak has a neat sidearm.

bri, sounds like you're not far from me in Hood River. Although I might point out that with points in Eugene, Salem and Yakima, your point would make it a quadrilateral.

I am very excited about Clement. After watching Pudge the last couple of nights, it's pretty clear what a good catcher can do to lead a team. Clement could be the same kind of player, although I agree he's not going to throw out as many base-stealers. Yet. Sounds like he'll be the kind of guy who'll work hard to improve his game, from now until he retires.

I'm fairly certain you've been hitting the Sierra Nevada (or perhaps the Anchor Steam?) fairly hard tonight.

12/13:

As a native of Olympia, I'd like to point out that everyone who lives there thinks it's Washington DC. So you're not alone in your confusion.

(Anyone who feels me gets a drink bought for 'em if we ever cross paths.)

Don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but do we know that Clement is actually going to play? Has he stayed in baseball shape since USC was knocked out of the college WS last month?

BOO!... I live in the Tri Cities! I'd rather have the Aquasox come HERE so I can see Clement!

Aw well. The Aquasox are in town from Auguest 19th to 23rd. Maybe I can catch the sensation then, assuming he hasn't blazed a path up to AA San Antonio already. Weirder stuff has happened.

AK1984,
Please don't mention Baek. He is the worst starting pitcher I have seen in recent memory. Livingston, agreed.
