I wouldn't think warm-up tosses are that big of a deal, and the fact that he threw 8 innings doesn't worry me. Not to mention that the former is a lot less frustrating to watch. I am pretty sure that Hargrove and Price made the call on their own. If the kid is going to be an ACE he needs to be able to throw more than that, but he is only 19 years old, we can afford to patient, especially with our trac record concerning young phenom's. I can’t think of any plausible reason the kid should throw 115 pitches this year in a game that means absolutely nothing long term.
