As for Rivera, the M's really like Rob Johnson behind the plate; he skipped AA this year to be in Tacoma, albeit partly because of Jeff Clement. We've talked about this before, but I don't really think there's any need to get Rivera playing time at any level for development purposes. He pretty clearly can't hit, and has fallen way behind Clement and Johnson on the depth chart. I was pretty sure about my 40-man roster, but now I'm not sure about Blackley. There was definitely talk when Harris made the roster that another move would have to be made when Lawton's suspension is up, so I'm thinking there isn't an open spot right now. You'd think that Hargrove would push for a lot of them. That way, once they got to the majors, he'd never have to change his lineup or pinch hit other than for injuries or for resting players (whom he could replace with another switch-hitter and still not have to pinch hit).
