June 1st: The end of the Carl Everett era and the beginning of the Shin Soo Choo age. Also, the Choo epoch signals the fall of Ibanez’s tenure as the Mariners’ starting left fielder. Smiles Everyone!

Bela: Cabrera was looking very fine indeed on the field prior to his going down with the sprained ankle. Smooth and fluid on D, though there were a couple instances I remember where his throw over to 1B was, well, let's just say we were lucky to have tall guys like Morse and Sears over there. But for the most part, I think he's pretty darn solid out there.

Regards Jones, he's dropped two fly balls out in center now, and in each game, it was the action that was immediately followed by a plethora of runs for the opposing team. Bummer. yeah, he strikes out, but the balls he HAS been hitting are hard hit, and as Bavasi alluded to (or possibly said straight out) they know he's going to be a bit overmatched at AAA, but I gotta say, just in the Rainiers first homestand, one could see him learning and growing, so I think he's a pretty quick study, and it'll be awfully fun to watch him and see where he's at come August.

Gunga: The problem, of course, is that you can only listen to one game at a time. And so, one must choose WHICH kids to keep up with. (including, of course, any you have running around at home)

Corky (Miller): we hardly knew ye.

Quiroz cleared waivers per the Times and was outrighted to Tacoma, so the Ms get to hang onto him and see what comes of it. If this move was 'as per plan,' it worked. Corky Miller was the the music man without a chair. ("Sorry, Shorty," as the Man of Few Words once said.)

Lessee: Adam Jones is K-ing a ton, and generally looking a bit overmatched, much as Dave alluded to as a possibility some while back---for now. He'll come along in time. I'm as surprised as anyone regarding Choo, but if it makes a market for him all to the good. I'd be interested to hear how Asdrubal Cabrera is looking in the field if anyone actually watching the Lad has a view on that.

Fruto looks to be throwing filthy stuff up there. Cruceta is performing in a workmanlike fashion. Whichever organization trencherman advocated his being acquired gets a silver star pasted next to their name. Foppert is putting up frightening numbers, like he's not healthy. Or something.

#17, thanks for the info on Fruto, as I, too, was a-wondering. The Best reason, then, rather than something unfulfilling.

ORF, I've been taking advantage of my work situation today to listen to MiLB Gameday Audio. Unfortunately, the Missions blew it in the top of the 9th. Don't know who was pitching at the time due to work getting in the way (WTH!!!) as well as my personal situation, with which I believe you may be familiar. :)

Anyway, great way to keep up on the kids.

Ya know, as much as I love the MILB gameday, it sort of breaks the suspense since it told me Adam Shabala had struck out, around 30-45 seconds before Mike Curto described it.
