How quickly Hickey forgets that it was Rhodes that also gave up the gopher balls to the Yankees in 2000 and 2001. What has Rhodes done since he left Seattle? Nothing! He’s only older and one of the many question-marked moves from this off-season.

i don’t think any of the four is “anything special”…i think the division is wide open…the team that stays healthiest and gets the most consistent starting pitching will win…it’s anyone’s division to take…

I don’t think the Angles are anything special, but I think they are the team most likely to win the division– mostly because this division is crap.

Since you are going to prove why the Angels are way overhyped, I’d be interested if you have any reason why I should care about Texas. I’m also a little unsure what to expect out of the A’s. They look similar to the Angels because they have a pretty decent rotation and a pretty boring lineup.

To me, the Angels are a favorite (if not, then who is?) but I agree they aren’t the overwhelming favorite they’re made out to be. Checking out consensus Vegas lines, the Angels are about a 58% chance to win the division, A’s 30%, Rangers 16%, and Mariners 8%. That adds to a bit more than 100, since the bookmakers have to make some money by underpaying the true odds.

But they aren’t any better than last year’s team. The offense is bad. Their prospects haven’t panned out. And Jered Weaver isn’t nearly as good as his ERA. Yeh, if the starting pitchers all perform at their 75% PECOTA, this team will coast, but that’s a 1 in 1000 chance.

I am curious to see DMZ longer post after skiing.
