For all Mariner fans attending future games —

You can throw up to five gingersnaps unto the field a good distance (say, oh, shallow right-center) and only have the bag of gingersnaps confiscated from you. Your state of intoxication and the distribution of hostile, middle-aged fans around you apparantly pays no part in the cop’s decision.

Not that you should try this.

I actually mentioned that to her. I really enjoyed it, and from a baseball fan perspective I was all “ooh, ooh, and there’s this, and this, and this!” …. so…. I don’t know. Hopefully I didn’t come off as too annoying. But anyway, yeah. Possibly to be fixed if there’s a print edition. We’ll see.

Nice story, but what’s up with the manager sending his poor-hitting pitcher to the plate in the bottom of the 12th inning, knowing that she’s already finished pitching that day? Hasn’t he ever heard of pinch hitting?

If you haven’t had the chance yet, please go see Derek at Third Place. We had a great time with him here at my place. He’s a very knowledgeable guy, funny and a pleasure to meet. Oh, yeah, his book is also the best baseball book published this year.

This is Lake Forest Park. I don’t know about a pub, but there’s pretty decent Mexican food in the food court thingie there. Not Muy Macho good, but better than Taco Del Mar! (Addendum: I was slightly disturbed to find, when I googled “south park mexican” to remember the name of Muy Macho, that there is a rapper named “South Park Mexican” who is currently in prison for child molestation.) There’s a good bakery too.
