The Royals are not that bad of a team anymore, they had a terrible start, but they have been pretty good lately. They are improving fast and will be dangerous in a few years.

I think most of the “fire McLaren” posts where jokes though.

Heh, this team baffles me. Sure, sweep the BoSox. But KC… can’t win the opening game on that one The last few games they couldn’t do jack with RISP. Crazy.

Oh well, can’t win every game I suppose.

I’m sorry — what? Fire McLaren? After one game? Oh, and you lose one game and all of a sudden it’s “regression to the mean”?

Are M’s fans taking lessons in victimhood from Red Sox fans? That’s embarrassing.

If the M’s had beaten them up, it wouldn’t matter what moves McLaren made. Managers don’t matter much, and one-run games are dice rolls. We lost. Big deal. It means NOTHING.

Sometimes I think anything less than 116 wins is forever going to equal “suck” for some people.

For the earlier posters asking about the radar gun at the K, there is actually one, we are not living in the stone age, just the mid-west. Felix topped out at 98 (according to that gun, who knows how accurate it is) a couple times last night. His fastball was most consistantly 95-96 though, and he threw a ton of them the first inning.

160: It’s an appeal to the base umpires (because they have a good view for checked swings) in the absence of an opinion given by the home plate umpire, whose call trumps the others for all plays. (Not an appeal of the home plate umpire’s decision.)
