Regarding Soriano, they'd better check the ol' arm. He's had a history of pitching ineffectively when injured.

To The Unknown Comic: Even if Bavasi has rebuilt the farm system, that's an argument for giving him that job, not letting him be the GM. To the others who are calling us bandwaggoners: I'm not saying anything different than what I've said all year. I've always said this team has major holes and is a playoff pretender rather than a true contender. I've always said Bavasi should be fired. I've always said Felix belongs in Tacoma, not in the majors, at this stage of his career. I've never been a Hargrove fan, but I've always been much more concerned about Bavasi than Hargrove, because the field manager has to make do with what the GM gives him, and thus has much less influence. (The exception is the truly terrible manager who costs his team games in a close playoff race; think Bob Melvin in his first year.) This is just hardheaded baseball logic, not irrational fan despair.

The Braves got rid of Reitsma for a reason. I doubt they'd take him back for free.

366 any chance they'd take a one for one swap with Reitsma. I'd gladly take a struggling Soriano over Reitsma.

365-
Have you read this thread today? Maybe you and I
have different opions on the comments. I've been reading the site for some time now and know all about the frustration and the moves everyone wants to see.

But tonights posts just seem to have a "sky is falling" theme...not just one post. I understand a 5 game losing streak will do that.

I know we're not bandwagoners here. But the despair is a bit much today. Like I said in my original post, we'll probably snap out of this little funk and rip of 7 of 10 and everyone will be happy again...or as happy as they can be without Jones on the roster.

347 & 353

I don't expect the M's to win every series.

However I am concerned that out of all of the top teams in the AL they are the only one who can claim they've had two 6 game losing streaks and currently on a 5 game losing streak this season.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Boston and Detroit both have had 4 games losing streaks this season and Cleveland and Anaheim have had a couple of 3 game losing streaks here and there.

It's just hard to take a a team like this serious if they continue to have these sporatic losing streaks of 5 games or more, especially when the playoff race is this close.

Not to defend our FO. But I think a lot of FO's and managers have to use patience much more so than fans.

I'm not saying that's smarter but...

We were all yelling for Weaver's head. They showed patience and he ends up turning it around for now.

Vidro was terrible but he seems to actually be contributing now

Luckily I wasn't able to see the game tonight, but from the comments on this site it sounded like atrocious. This team will no doubt lose tomorrow, come home and regoup with a sweep of the Angels (pie in the sky, I know.
