Was at the game last nite, a few random observations:

There was a guy a couple of sections away yelling at Richie every time he was up (".207 you call that a batting average? how about .206 now?...") He was kinda funny.

There was some Ra*l booing as stated earlier. I had a sign that I'm sure he saw as I was along the 3rd base side that said "Adam Jones' mom called & she wants her fries delivered to Safeco soon! FREE ADAM JONES" Ra*l took a longer route out to left after that. Pretty sure Blow saw it as well.We also had a "Cult of Doyle 4ever" sign. Needless to say we spect a little time explaining those, but well worth the effort.

Once they put in Reitsma, the consensus was were would be throwing the game away with both hands. But really chaps my hide was all the blame laid on George Sherrill for the homerun, he wouldn't have been in the predicament if Chris hadn't already walked those 2 guys beforehand.

PS Travis Buck's "up nopw" picture on the big screen just screams "I wanna party with this dude!"

345: The appropriate response to that question, of course, should be "no one in their right mind."

Aside from Drayer's inside reports/interviews, that post-game show has largely sucked ever since New York Vinnie stopped doing it when they went over to KOMO.

We are all asking for Jones to come up I-5, but are we even sure he wants to?? With the current condition of the Mariners offense and the fact he can only fill 1 of the numerous slumping/poor lineup spots with a likely improvement, I can see him saying "no Bill, I don't want to play for that team". Hes probably praying to be a future Marlin............. Heaven forbid..!

#363: And also why the Mariners don't need to extend Jose Guillen's contract, we have a #4 hitter for the next 10 years in Adam Jones rather than a power hitter for the next 3 years like Jose Guillen would be if the M's extended him.

Did you guys check out the Firstinning article on Adam Jones I posted the other day?

http://firstinning.com/content/200707142

It compares players Isolated power from players under 22 in AAA over the past ten years. Adam Jones ranks right up their with Konerko and Fielder in terms of ISOP, ranks ahead of Aramis and Vernon! Scary

Even a casual fan would notice that something is wrong, and anyone with knowledge of Adam Jones would MOST LIKELY do very in the majors, and at the least would be an improvement over Raul in Left. Sadly, the FO either doesn't see that or won't do anything about it, which is why my optomism is waning...

355 - Shockingly, I am a very optimistic person. Just not, these days, about my Mariners or my beloved Miami Dolphins.

It was a sad day when I realized that, although there are a thousand intricacies of the game and the business about which they know more than me... I came to realize that they really DON'T know more about a lot of things related to strategy and personnel.

They just don't.

And I watched my favorite teams in two sports freaking implode in a series of bad decisions that were very, very often foreseeable and avoidable.

There is not a doubt in my mind that the operators (and some posters) are thinking at a higher level than our manager and GM on some SPECIFIC aspects of the game. They have a lot more on their plate, and all of them are better at some things than others.

I mean, all you need to learn everything you need to know about coach or gm fallibility is to look at Dave Wannestadt. Or pick a dozen others...

thats sad for Ibanez. Jason Ellison? If Ibanez is hurt at all, he needs to come out and say it. Even if he's not hurt, say it anyways so he can at least have some kind of excuse
