Y’know, I can forgive Weaver for yesterday. He was hanging way too many breaking balls out there and paid for it with 11 hits, but that might have been attributable to the heat affecting his decision making abilities. He did manage to somehow get out of it with only 3 runs after 6 innings, and 3 of those innings were pretty solid, so whatever. He’s our 5th starter and that was acceptable pitching from someone in that position in those conditions.

Not to mention Weaver has had the least run support of any starting pitcher (w/ more than 15 starts) in the American league, with only 3.56 a game. If Weaver had a 3.56 era >

Weaver's xFIP: 5.27
HoRam's xFIP: 5.41

Really, Weaver's not pitching very well, and neither is more than a total stopgap at the back of the rotation.

292: The only problem is that Jeff Weaver is our fourth starter. You're going to get a taste of what a real fifth starter is like when the Road Warrior shows up on Thursday.

76: In 1999, Rafael Palmiero logged 135 games as a DH, 38 as a 1B. He won the Gold Glove for 1B.

Games like this one frustrate me as a fan. McLaren runs out a terrible lineup, and Weaver pitches like crap, but because we're facing the mighty Orioles, we win the game. That horrifies me because it justifies the excuses of Guillen saying the ball team is good enough, and excuses their use of Adam Jones.

I felt like I was rooting against the team tonight. However, even if they did lose, I fear they'd still run the same lineup out there.

Hi guys. I'm new to the site, this being my first post. Even before his homers tonight I think that the moves that this team needs to make are to make Raul the DH against RHP. Let A. Jones play every day, and then sit Vidro unless there is a LHP. (Not to mention the Brousard/Sexson platoon) Vidro's lack of production (3 HRs and 35 RBIs) is killing this offense and Raul is the better option. Plus DHing him gets his awful defense out. Is this a pretty common opinion, or do more people think Vidro should DH?

WOOHOOO! I was at the game tonight after months of anticipation for the only M's in Baltimore series this season. Spectacular game, Ibanez 2 homers, Weaver NO WALKS (but 11 hits). Tons of hits by both teams, very fun to watch. I thought I had SUCH a good chance at rally fries considering I had a sign AND I met one of the M's cameramen before the game. Whoever the fries went to, it worked, so I won't complain... I'm a team player :p I'll be there thursday as well, hopefully HorRam can be just as good as Weaver, if I dare call giving up 11 hits in 6 innings good. Satisfying night all around!
