"Doesn’t 150 kph = a mere 90 mph?"

More like 93. a kilometer is .621371192 of a mile, so a 150 kph fastball is a scosh faster than 93 mph.... that's nothing special, but nothing to sneeze at, either - especially if it has movement.

RR-S, regarding Griffey, Jr: "I thought that it was pretty cool, because even my mates back in Australia would know who he was because he was on The Simpsons."

This makes me laugh, though it's kind of sad that my biggest sports hero as a kid is now internationally known for being a cartoon character.

Pretty cool story. I can't imagine going down there. The roaches would be the least of my concerns.

Yeah, RRS doesn't throw hard at all.

He's still the man though.

Doesn't 150 kph = a mere 90 mph? At least, that's my recollection from the last time I drove in Canada. Sounds more impressive in kph, though.

Great stuff. Reading a pitcher's velocity in km/h was almost as fun as hearing baseball terminology in French (Geoff Baker should do that sometime).

RE: #3

In my case, stores CLOSE so I can't shop there. I do like RR-S though, dammit, he's the first hyphenated MLB player.

And I feel that the Aussies are ready for baseball, they already have surfing. God knows they have the weather for both.

Do stores in Seattle shut down so Ichiro can shop privately, or in the states do we just do that for Oprah?

You know you've made it to the show, when you get free coffee. Hopefully the luck continues, and he has a tremendous year.
