Michael Young is atrocious at shortstop. I canâ€™t imagine watching him try to play defense every day.

Oh, I don’t know. I’m sure it’s pretty much the same as watching our 1B and LF every day.

Bedard, according to some Baltimore blogs I’ve read, has little patience for the typical stupid questions that post game media guys ask. His “4 questions and that’s it” thing from earlier in the spring was an obvious continuation of that.

Basically, Bedard is Seattle’s Barry Bonds. The media isn’t going to be favorable to him if he’s not favorable to them. As such, since the media basically controls what we see and hear, Bedard will be labeled “The Bastard” for his entire tenure.

And guess what? That wont help the team in signing him to an extension. Whether you like that idea or not of re-signing Bedard, the media and their treatment of him shouldn’t be an issue.
