18: I remember the Red Sox announcers in a rain-delayed West Coast extra innings game in the seventies asking for postcards from anyone still listening and they got a few hundred.

Luckily in this case, it was a Thursday, so you know their next game wonâ€™t be a day game. But, boy would it suck if they had a 1pm start today.

Yeah, but it would still suck to have to leave, get on a plane, and fly a couple of time zones east (as the Rockies did, to play in Houston tonight). JoeJessica caught all 22 innings. Think he gets the day off tonight?

They should rig up Petco so they can move the fences in. A few feet an inning, every inning after the 12th (or something like that).

One of the ESPN page 2 guys had a great article on crazy stuff that happens in extra innings. I wish I remembered the link. The best line was about the crazy things the broadcasters begin to say around the 14th inning. Color guy leans over to play-by-play guy and says like “Did I ever tell you about the time I murdered a man with my bare hands in Las Vegas?”

Yeah I listened to 9 innings of that game, the LAST 9 innings, on XM. I know Petco is a tough run-scoring environment, but come on! I couldn’t believe that guy getting thrown out by a mile at 3rd with no outs in the 13th. Ouch.

I couldn’t sleep and sat down at the computer and saw the comments at the bottom of the M’s game. At first I couldn’t believe people were still commenting. Great fun. No other sport does this, go on forever; cricket can be five days but they have tons of breaks and go home overnight.
