Alas, little Ms. Laska bowed out in the next round, missspelling "ranine" as "rainine." She may know her baseball, but she doesn't know her frogs, toads, or swellings under the tongue... Well, she made it further this year then the M's did.

HA! My lil brother got knocked out yesterday in the prelims. But a free trip to DC is always fun.

And it is sad that we all know this little girl is smarter than our FO.

No, see, if these geeks had had a real man around the house he would've made sure they got out of the basement and played a lot of real baseball on real grass in real fresh air, not wasted all their time learning this computer stuff, let alone girly stuff like statistics, so they'd all have good manly low-skill manufacturing jobs that they'd have now lost to cheap overseas labor rather than high-paying computer jobs that enable them to spend their leisure time playing with statistics.

Poor Karen Laska, she's going to end up living in her mother's basement the rest of her life...

BTW, why is it always a "mother's" basement. Don't we geeks even deserve a father?

That's nothing!!!

I went to the Mariners game 2 nights ago, and I was sitting right in front of a 5-7 year old who is a Red Sox fan. And this is one of those kids that is curious about each and every thing he observes and he's always asking questions and making odd comments and all that.

And he says during the first inning when Manny is up or something:

"You shouldn't swing at the first pitch unless you really like it? Right Dad?"

And I was laughing to myself and saying to myself:
"Wow! This 5 to 7 year old kid has something figured out that 20 to 40 year old men on this team can't figure out!!!!!"
