again on MLB 08: The Show, Hud is annoying...the M's hit a lot of singles so you often hear from him "7 hits in the ballgame for them, all singles..someone didn't eat their spinach...aagga(insert very baYed popeye imitation here). Yeah, there are a lot of passed balls in the game with runners on, they charge them as wild pitches though. The announcers do catch on if you make a strange move, for instance, I have used Rhodes as a pinch-hitter and have I have inserted Washburn as pinch runner, I think they say "well this moves makes you scratch your head".

"Snarkless morning note"

I'm not sure about snarkless, more like less snark.

Ah ha! It just doesn’t do that on the Wii then.

Mario Super Sluggers comes out this year. I saw the Japanese trailer this morning and it looks awesome. Chomp Chomps can come out of the outfield grass and eat the left fielder... I have dreams like that.

"I will not be wearing the traditional Doyle jersey . . ."

OK, but you can pick up a paper bag with two eye holes for a buck on the way into the park. I'm just sayin' . . .

You're right, the passed balls are too much. Also, if you check your swing a lot, you have to hear them comment on it every single time. I check swing on most pitches I take, so it gets tiresome, but I think you can turn the announcers off. Speaking of which, Hudler is God-awful. Someome should take his vocal chords and hide them in a far away place. The foul balls on full counts are gratuitous, as you point out. I avoid it by going outside the zone...results in more walks, but cuts down on the foul-athons by a bunch. Helps to use Felix or Delcarmen or anyone with a breaking ball that starts in the zone and dives quickly out. The fielding is pretty wonky at times, too. All that said, still the best baseball game I've ever owned.

It’s not unusual to have a batter foul off five or more pitches in any at-bat where the count goes to 3-2;

I have The Show for my PSP, but it doesn't get played much for two main reasons:

1) A simply ridiculous amount of passed balls on any sort of breaking pitch. If there's a man on first, you're better off throwing all fastballs and hoping for a double play.

2) It's not unusual to have a batter foul off five or more pitches in any at-bat where the count goes to 3-2; what makes it worse is that the announcer makes a point of telling you that the batter is making you throw a lot of pitches. Thanks, you jerk.
