well, he is. It’s one of the few things he seems to have always done, suck it up for the team (in both senses of the phrase)

That particular tenet of baseball religion is that no one is supposed to mention the no hitter to the pitcher. So as long as pitchers donâ€™t watch the broadcast of their own game, itâ€™s all good.

Right, but if none of us talk about it either, then it’s like we’re actually on the team too. Or so we can pretend.

Vin Scully was talking about it for innings, as it is his job to do. Good announcers ignore that particular tenet of baseball religion.

That particular tenet of baseball religion is that no one is supposed to mention the no hitter to the pitcher. So as long as pitchers don’t watch the broadcast of their own game, it’s all good.

It just infuriates me that the media will be saying what a trooper and team player he is. But he’s an asshole and he wasn’t pitching well, and he got lucky.

And he’ll probably have some more self-congratulatory comments about how awesome he was and how he could truck through eight innings tonight, but the bullpen couldn’t each just eek out one more inning each.
