I really hope Ichiro has some friends — probably back in Japan — he can share this stuff with. I definitely get the impression he spends a lot of time amusing himself in ways that fly right over the heads of much of the media and a lot of the lunk-headed jocks around him. It must be a bit like being Robin Williams locked inside Stephen Hawking’s body. Or maybe just like being Stephen Hawking.

Sometimes I wish Ichiro would share with the rest of us, but part of his appeal is the mystery that, someday, should lead to one hell of a biography.

It sounds like something hollywood will make into a movie someday, kind of the reverse “Mr. Baseball”.
