He's pretty much shown he's mastered AAA, and he stunk up the joint in the bigs last year, so isn't a relatively low pressure bunch of starts against the pretty good competition we're going to be facing the rest of the year (Twins, Rays, Yankees, and our division rivals) the kind of shot we should be giving him? If he succeeds, we could be looking at a rotation of Felix, Bedard, Morrow, Feierabend and RRS (or a day of rain) next year, which wouldn't be so terrible at all. If he fails, what have we lost? They are good from the results based side but a bunch of regression coming. However it is only an 11 game AAA sample. The reason to hangout no Washburn is to not throw some rookie into the fire. You are going to give Washburn money might as well do it so he can pitch. W's and L's mean nothing at this point so if Washburn isn't blocking a young player from coming up then have him eat innings.
