Anyone see the highlight of Jamie Moyer running the bases in his game? Now there's someone showing emotion and caring! Makes it to third from a sac bunt (bunted properly, btw) on two errors, knocking the umpire loitering in his way on his ass in the process.

Some of the worst defensive baseball players I have seen looked like they cared the most. Did Richie ever look like he didn't care? I don't remember Beltre with furious displays of emotion when he makes an error. Then you have players like Ozzie Smith and Mike Cameron that looked like they were just out to have a good time, all the time.

The way to measure people is not by the way they look.

Maybe not, but still....

But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage;
Then lend the eye a terrible aspect;
Let pry through the portage of the head
Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it
As fearfully as doth a galled rock
O'erhang and jutty his confounded base,
Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean.
Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide,
Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit
To his full height.

You're right, DMZ, and I'm sorry if I sounded judgemental. It's just been a long and frustrating season.

56: I would agree to some extent on that lack of focus. How many times have we seen Lopez just stand out there after an error with a nonchalant look on his face like it was no big deal? Apples and oranges, perhaps, but whenever guys like Boonie, McLemore or David Bell made an error, they'd usually look like they were so pissed off about it afterwards that they were ready to go punch a wall.

55 & 51

Isn't the word we are really looking for focus?

I think there is an inconsistent level of focus on this team... Yuni and Lopez are the prime examples.
