So a long time ago when I was a catcher in fast-pitch youth baseball, I had a play like that where I caught a beautiful throw in from right, set to put the tag on this huge dude who was out by five feet, and I still remember the little grin on his face as he ran those five feet to knock into me. I saw stars for the first time but I held onto the ball. And the ump yelled â€œYouâ€™re out! And youâ€™re out!â€ and ejected the guy.
Ahhhhh memories.

But Derek, how did you fit all of those people in your mom’s basement!

The immortal Kyle Davies, with a lifetime ERA of 5.87, WHIP of 1.70, and BA against of .295, is tonight’s example of “good pitching”.

I guess it wouldn’t be much of an interview if Riggleman said something like “Crummy pitching generally beats really crummy hitting.”

But it would be fun to hear, just once.

I went into my local bar and they had skateboarding on the secondary TV (MNF was on the main screen). I gestured at the little screen and said “Hey, there’s a baseball game on” The bartender switched it over to FSN, saw that it was M’s-Royals, and said “I thought you said there was a baseball game on?”

We watched skateboarding.

Actually, my attention to the game/thread is limited because I’m paying bills right now. I’m not sure which is more painful, watching the Mariners or my checking account balance.
