I just had elbow tendonitus, and it is probably the best injury for a pitcher, if there is such a thing. It is pretty much just inflammed tendon, and once it goes away, 1-2 possibly 3 weeks, its gone for good in most cases. Just needs to take it easy, and not try to throw before its completely gone.

So Tui gets a reprieve. Still doesn't look like he will get in a game.

That's why it has to be an injury, they have no reason to keep Tui around.

Is this a tactical move, or is there actually something wrong with RRS? (I hope for the former, but the way the roster is constructed makes me suspect the latter.)

This was my first thought as he looked terrible in his first start. I was hoping the M's were going to skip his start regardless and bring in Felix to pitch against the Angels on normal days rest. I really hope his ankle is ok.

How does everyone anticipate Jak's performance as a starter? Does he have the stamina to go 5 or 6 plus innings?

Does anyone know if Triunfel will be doing his rehabbing here with the big club? It might be a nice way for him to make the most of his enforced down time.

It is vague but it’s still an injury it’s the inflammation of a tendon from my knowledge which is very painful

I think it depends upon the tendon, the current severity of inflammation, and the stress put upon it during recovery. My bouts of patellar tendonitis we're much more painful than my normal running aches...as long as I didn't run or walk/stand too much. Trying to push it could pretty much put me on the ground though.

The recovery can be trouble though, especially if it's a tendon you can't really rest during normal life. It can go away quickly or linger for months.

Interesting tidbit from the mariners site:

There will be a special guest at Wednesday night's game, watching each of Ichiro's at-bat closely: Isao Harimoto, the current all-time hits leader among Japanese players with 3,085.

The 68-year-old traveled from Japan to Seattle to watch his record fall. Ichiro needs three hits to eclipse the mark Harimoto has held since he retired in 1981.

The injury makes sense, RRS's velocity's been down about 5 mph this year. Hopefully when he comes off the DL he'll be back in the low 90's instead of showing a Jamie Moyer fastball like he did against Oakland.

Tendinitis is a wonderfully vague diagnosis. This could well just be tactical.

It is vague but it's still an injury it's the inflammation of a tendon from my knowledge which is very painful and my wishes to RR-S for a quick recovery.

Would the Angels be, as they were for Silva, the right lineup to be sending Jakubauskas out against? Although honestly the Tigers don't look all that different to me.
