I am a bit worried about the state of the bullpen for the next two games. Not as worried as I would be if it was someone other than Felix and Bedard taking the mound (and in that order, since Bedard likely will go fewer innings than Felix, so it’s good for the pen to get an extra day).

I'm not too concerned.

I think Batista & Vargas ate enough innings. I'd expect White, Kelley, and Stark to be readily available for tonight's game. Of course this all depends on how deep Felix can pitch today.

Over on the Athletics Nation site they're excoriating Geren for his managerial decisions. Actually, in the wake of this weekend's series they're even questioning the sainted Beane. It's like Mariners circa 2008 over there -- really ugly.

We win a game in which the entire bullpen + Batista pitch. Is everyone sure that the Mayan calendar doesn't map 2012 as 2009 in the Western calendar?

And the A's left that kid whats-his-name in for a ludicrously long time. That was pretty silly.

Still, a W is a W.

It's pretty interesting that the rotation schedule worked out such that Texas comes in for just two games and those are the starters they get to face. And that would be second-place, currently-biggest-threat-in-the-AL-West Texas. Remember when they didn't juggle the rotation schedule a week ago against the White Sox? I wonder how much they were looking ahead to this series.

Two pitchers moved up to Seattle and Tuiasosopo is on the DL (again), so I don't think there's really a jam. Once guys at various levels come off the DL there might be a problem, but that's kind of a good problem to have. And you just know there's going to be a trade in the next couple of months...

Well, we signed an outfielder and a pitcher who both are headed for Tacoma so I guess this is where the FO earns its money. (What is the roster limit for minor league teams anyway, the same as the majors?)

However, having won, and with King Felix on the mound tomorrow, we should be in fine shape compared to the Rangers, who did have to fly after the game.

Doesn't hurt that their best player, Mr. Hamilton is also on the DL.

We do lose the advantage of resting comfortably in Seattle while the Rangers were playing the late night game in Arlington; they weren't done too much later than we were. However, having won, and with King Felix on the mound tomorrow, we should be in fine shape compared to the Rangers, who did have to fly after the game.

It's freely available talent. There's no downside to stockpiling it.
