His defense will keep him off short long term because he's going to outgrow the position, but there's a chance that he'll still play second. He undoubtedly has an arm for third, but the bat is more questionable. Historically, his best asset is that he's younger than most of the league, followed shortly by great bat skills, but he started hitting home runs (finally) in High Desert in 2008.
