Donâ€™t be surprised to see Trader Z make a swing for Curtis Granderson (CF/LF), Edwin Jackson (SP) and Brandon Inge (3B). Their salaries would be still under what it will take to Sign Jason Bay or Matt Holliday and still leave $$$ to sign John Lackey. What are we to give up? Brandon Morrow, Shawn Kelley, Michael Saunders, and two other Mâ€™s Minor Leaguers (none named Truinfel). This trade goes down and Lackey signs and the Mâ€™s are back in the postseason.

Only one of those players is worth trading for. John Lackey is going to cost a really stupid amount of money.

Actually, I found that news to be very encouraging. Remember, in past seasons the team signed, or traded for, such people as Miguel Cairo, Carl Everett, Jose Vidro and Carlos Silva. I’m sure they all are nice people but they hardly could be called baseball players when we acquired them.
