selectivity reminds me– this from Larue the other day:

“Most players get in the cage during BP and swing at everything you throw them â€“ and 50 percent of the pitches you throw them are pitches they wouldnâ€™t swing at in a game,” Wakamatsu said.

Not Bradley and not Figgins.

“They wonâ€™t swing at a pitch outside the zone they want to hit in,” Wakamatsu said. “It doesnâ€™t matter whoâ€™s throwing or how frustrated the guy throwing BP gets, they wonâ€™t swing at bad balls.”

Don’t think there’s a Borders in Ellensburg. There is one in Union Gap though if I remember right.

Checked the WSU Bookie today and it’s not in. Too bad, looks like I’ll have to wait and read the copy I sent my dad

I got the 2010 Mariners Annual at Borders. I just about read the entire thing in one sitting. Great work guys!

Nice little write up Marc W. Found all the stories interesting. Very excitied about The Cheney project. Even though I only go to maybe one game a year there. I like to save my money for the Safe.

That shirt from the NEU students is awesome. Amazing the sources innovation comes from. It’ll be interesting to see if they can get it off the ground.

Yes, the team’s signed a 30-year lease with the city which I’d imagine includes a higher rent. I’d love to see a budget for this, as the private contribution from the Cheney Foundation isn’t clear (at least to me).
The bond proceeds directed to the stadium appear to be $28m (according to this Council document), and the total project cost is supposed to be in the ~$30m range. But as you say, Mike, debt service is supposed to be paid largely by private sources – a $0.50 per ticket facility charge will help with that.

Can’t wait to see this, honestly.
