Pizza Feed Reminder

Yes, I’m back to pimp for the second annual U.S.S. Mariner Pizza Feed. We’ve got a good sized crowd confirmed already, but still have some space available if you’d like to come and talk baseball with the gang from USSM, a large group of readers, and some special guests. And there’s food. Details below.

When?: December 18th from 12 pm to 5 pm.
Where?: Horace Mann Elementary School in Redmond.
Who?: Derek, Jason, Dave, you, and various special guests who you’ll enjoy meeting.
How much?: $15 per person
Is there food?: Enough pizza, salad, and sides for lunch and a small dinner (New York Vinnie excluded)
Great! Now what? If you’re going to attend, you must do three things:

1. Email us with the name of each person you’re confirming attendance for.
2. You’ll receive an address in response to mail your check to. Payment in advance is required; your spot is not guaranteed until we receive your money.
3. Show up on the 18th.

We’re getting close to the deadline for confirming your attendance, since I have to place a rather large food order in advance. Hope to see you all on the 18th.

[…] tone. I’ll say this – I really do regard USSM as a never-ending get-together (like the Feed!) except without the face-to-face and the pizza. If someone’s at a party and starts to […]

    Check’s in the mail, Dave.

I would like to again remind people that Horace Mann is actually on 104th STREET – not court, like it says on the map. I guess if you paid $15, 104th court will get you close enough to find the school (just follow the scent of 80 hot pizzas!), but I just wanted to clear that up…

I was just getting ready to remind my wife, and beg for her permission to let me attend the feed when we got an e-mail from my wife’s aunt last night. Seems they want to have their Christmas get-together on the 18th at noon. Considering that it’s highly likely that they purposely moved the date up since my wife and I are booked on 12/24 and 12/25 with our immediate families (i.e. parents & brothers/sisters) and haven’t attended the extended family get-together in several years, I’d probably be shot and dressed if I asked to sneak out for a few hours.

My question was going to be — when’s the deadline to sign up?

I pushed the LotR marathon to Sunday so I will be M’s geeking one day and LotR geeking the next. I just have to mail out that check now.

Don’t worry Conor, I’ll send out more detailed directions and parking instructions to the mailing list once we get a little closer to the event. Everyone will know how to get there.

The only special guest is who is 100 % positive that he’s coming is Pat Dillon, broadcaster for the Everett Aquasox. Everyone else is a probably-to-maybe, so we’re giving them a little longer to make sure they can make it before announcing it to the world.

(continues scrounging for pennies in the couch cushions)

Are you sending a confirmation that you got our check? Not that the USPS ever loses anything…

Hey J, if you happen to find any extra pennies in your couch, can I borrow them? I’ll pay you back…

Yea, I’ll be sending out a payment update email shortly.

Cool. I’ll be wearing my Aquasox jacket 🙂

Dave, I really wish I could make it, but the time-space coordinates just don’t stack up. In principal, I’m working that Friday and Saturday, and short of renting a car to get there I’d see half of the event at best. It sucks, but I just don’t think I’m in for dinner. : (
