King Felix on the picture-box

DMZ · March 23, 2005 at 9:33 am · Filed Under Mariners

Super-reader Jeffrey Wood points out that Felix Hernandez is scheduled to pitch in tonight’s televised split-squad game… and it’s televised (Fox Sports Northwest).

Now, I’m not promising that he’s going to be super-amazing. I’m not going to sit here and tell you that your jaw will drop, and swoon like we do.

But he’s super-amazing, and your jaw will drop, and you’ll be back here later, swooning like we do. Unless you’ve got a hot date or something, check it out. And if you have a hot date, and they’re Mariner fans, maybe you can pitch the game to them– because it’s never too early to test a relationship’s strength.

Televised where? On what channel? (what I mean to say is, can us Canucks see it, since our government doesn’t allow us to get ESPN)

Tonight’s game will be on FSN, not sure if the “canucks” get that or not. The game will also be on MLB.TV for those that have that want to go that route.

Unfortunately if you’re anywhere that you’re likely to be a Mariners fan, you can’t watch the game on MLB.TV.

I understand the reasons and all, but it’s still frustrating. Luckily I don’t have to pay for MLB.TV, I get it included with my DSL package.

We’re out of luck, Chris. We can only see the FSN games when SNETP carries them, and they only do that during the season (and then only 50 times).

MLB.TV should work. All of Canada counts as Blue Jay territory for that (which is idiotic – Toronto is 4000 miles away).

Only if you’re not a Blue Jays fan like myself. I’m happy to be a Vancouverite, but my early childhood was spent in Toronto, so I have no qualms about cheering for Wells et al.

Thankfully one of my friends has all the Fox sports channels… I’ll end up over there tonight.

KOMO News is reporting in their 10/40 reports that Ryan Franklin was pitching the 12:00 game today (which wasn’t on the radio – BOOO!) and Jorge Campillo was pitching tonight on the televised game. Maybe they’ll split the game between Campy and King Felix?

  11. Sheri on March 23rd, 2005 2:22 pm

Ah – MLB.com says: “Teenage pitching sensation Felix Hernandez makes what could be his final appearance for the Mariners this spring. He is scheduled to follow Campillo to the mound in the night game.”

Try, or cry. Don’t say a friend in Woodinville, Yakima, Puyallup or Tahuya doesn’t have reception. I’ll be watching it in France.

I’m totally stoked. This will be my first time since the Futures game. Oh boy oh boy, time to go get the beer and pretzels lined up 🙂

Franklin gets killed today. Sele awash in Bloomie pixie dust.

#6 – according to the Great Circle Mapper at http://gc.kls2.com, Vancouver and Toronto are 2,085 miles away — that’s YVR to YYZ, airportly speaking.
