Big Board (sorta)
There’s a new Big Board up, but don’t get too excited — it’s only accurate at the major league level, as we don’t yet have rosters for the minor league clubs. So please, no complaints about minor leaguers or where they’re placed. (I will take complaints in the comments about bad links, guys who aren’t really left-handed, stuff like that.) It’ll all get updated again this week when rosters are announced. I did want the majors to be ready for Opening Day, however, so here you go. Oh, and remember to hit refresh after you open the page or you’ll probably be looking at the old version. No complaints about that, either.
Added later: Hey, the sun’s even coming out for the game!
Added Tuesday: We’re getting close, folks. All these suspensions (and injuries) have forced the M’s to move minor leaguers around, so they’ve been delayed in getting rosters out. I do have a Tacoma roster, a partial Wisconsin roster and what I believe to be a Inland Empire roster. Shouldn’t be more than another day or two before it all falls into place.

Ya know, the Tacoma roster doesn’t look too bad- Lopez, Choo, Strong, Jacobs, Morse, Leone, Campillo, King Felix might give them a PCL playoff berth.
Yeah, they should score some runs and the pitching isn’t bad, either. There’s not the pop there was last year with Bucky and AJ Zapp, though.

I’m thinking that Pellow will replace Zapp pretty well.
Someone said on another thread that Lopez is out with a broken hamate bone. I can’t find verification of this anywhere. Is this true?

I’d say it’s more spread out: A full year of Morse and Jacobs in Tacoma should give us two players with good slugging, Lopez is pretty decent, and Pellow, Choo and Nunez might not be too shabby. None of them will likely post Bucky’s numbers individually, but the team power might be pretty good.
#4 — I can only find “wrist injury,” nothing about the hamate. So who knows.

As an M’s fan in Colorado Springs, I’ll not be making it to a game this year. I will get to see the ‘Future Stars’, though, as the Raineers make 2 trips to town since the SkySox moved into their division. I’m not too disappointed with the talent I’ll be seeing…
talked to front office person they said he broke hamate out 4-6 weeks.it will be in papers soon….
Hey, DMB, maybe we can meet up at the ballpark. I don’t make it down to the Springs very often–we’re up in the mountains a ways, and it’s 2 hrs. just to Denver–but I do every once in a while; when is Tacoma in town?
32 players on Tacoma roster. Not complaining about your placement. Just curious as to how they will trim it to 24. Not to mention some of the lower levels rosters. Some tough desicions are going to need to be made regarding the farm system
One brief semi-related comment, but don’t expect Darwin Soto in San Antonio this year. I was reading an article the other day and it seems that he’s signed on with the Winnipeg Goldeyes, aka the former team of Bobby Madritsch and George Sherrill, IIRC…
Hey Guys, Last year you posted something about getting mlb.tv for a discounted rate if you signed up for something on MSN. Any hints on discounts for this year?
MLB got wise and discontinued that MSN plan. If you want MLB.TV this year you have to pay full price.
Un-freakin-believable!!!!
Sexson 2-2, 2HR, 5RBI.
Wow.
oops. in my excitement I posted to the wrong thread!
Wow. All that work done on the big board, and then it changes. Ryan Anderson, Rett Johnson, and Darwin Soto all gone. Guess thats the nature of it. It’s really going to go nuts when all those people start coming off the DL.
Guess I’ll say thanks to the guys running this place. They do alot of work to keep us informed and happy.
