Say what?

M’s pick up Guardado’s $6.25M option for next season. I’m floored. Better yet, Bavasi says they’ve discussed a contract extension to keep Eddie in Seattle after 2006. I’m double floored.

Hey, did someone mention this already? I believe Eddie has another 1 million in incentives. If he ends up getting that then the price tag would have been $7.25 mil. $7.25 mil for a closer on a team that might or might not make it to .500!!?? Oh that’s a good move!

    149. And then that trampling sound you hear near Safeco Field will be the rush of season ticket holders asking for refunds on their 2006 season tickets. Because, you know, why would you want to watch a team that your GM openly admits will not compete next season?

And Bavasi’s ass would be guaranteed grass after 2006.

#152- NAH! Safeco isnt a ballpark, its a destination. The baseball is secondary to the branding. The fanstasy of 149 would likely be met with *how quaint* by alot of the people who buy tickets for M’s games. Now lets go buy the kids some cotton candy and a picture of Ichiro that they can hang on the wall as a remembrance.

Years later as spring cleaning reveals an old Ichiro poster…what was the score?…hmmmm….i dont even remember the names of either team that was playing….but man…dad used to get us the best cotton candy! Hey lets take the kids to the ball park this weekend and get them some cotton candy just like dad used too…. And so new *Mariners fans* will be born….

#137: Eddie is the best closer in baseball why not pay him what he deserves??? Don’t hate.

I bet you’ve heard of this guy the Yankees have named Rivera. If my team had a one run lead going into the 9th inning of a must-win game, there’s no way I’d rather give Eddie the ball then Mr. Rivera.
