First batch of USSM swag available

DMZ · February 5, 2006 at 9:11 pm · Filed Under Site information

Makes a great uh… Valentine’s Day gift! Yeah! That’s it! Anyway, check it out, we’ve got a bunch of versions of the freaking awesome JoelE designs, and a couple of limited-edition shirts — every month, we’re going to try tossing out a couple of random cool shirts, and at the end of the month we pull the plug.
The shop
The February limited-edition shirts

I know we’d intended to try the logos on dark blue, but CafePress doesn’t have navy shirts we can use. Sorry.

We should have the Ambivalent Maybe designs up as soon as I figure out why CafePress refuses to accept the images.

And anyone wishing to take a crack at a better version of the limited edition Felix shirt and are willing to accept our standard pay rate ($0 forever but I do pay your way into a USSM feed), drop us a line.

All proceeds go to support our continuing efforts to censor open discussion and further our plans for world domination.

Those are fantastic, guys. I’m going to have to flip a coin to decide between the traffic one and the gay paleontologist one. A true dilemma.

I love the USSM design with the ship! Just a question: Will there be any hooded sweatshirts? I haven’t used CafePress before, but from what I understand, it doesn’t cost you guys money to offer more items, right? If that’s the case, I would also love to see coffee mugs. Just my two cents…

  3. DMZ on February 5th, 2006 9:56 pm

    For you, Conor… they’re up.

  4. Mike Lien on February 5th, 2006 10:00 pm

Very nice, any chance of a ringed shirt(Is that the name for the ones with the colored collar and arms)?

  5. DMZ on February 5th, 2006 10:03 pm

I will pretty much put up any kind of shirt you’re willing to buy.

  6. Mike Lien on February 5th, 2006 10:40 pm

well, to be specific then, a white shirt with the underline logo and blue collar and arm rings would be perfect for me thanks.

  7. DMZ on February 6th, 2006 12:40 am

    Done.

  8. vj on February 6th, 2006 1:29 am

So the Doyle shirt I orderred when you started this thing is a colector’s item now?

  9. David J. Corcoran on February 6th, 2006 6:24 am

    YES!

  10. msb on February 6th, 2006 9:20 am

I think the Felix shirt just needs the slogan … no crown, no USSM. the shirts are looking good though.

  11. msb on February 6th, 2006 9:24 am

but if you want USSM recognised (no, duh) how would ussmariner.com in a similar font look on the back?

  12. Joe C. in Buffalo on February 6th, 2006 9:45 am

Any chance the Felix shirt can be a sweatshirt? I’d definitely be up for that.

I don’t get the gay reference? Can someone more statistically inclined explain it?

quote of the day (hey, maybe it could go on a shirt ) from Alex Cora about his ‘big’ brother: “I couldn’t ask for a better brother than Joey. When you’re 5-8 — supposedly — and have the kind of career he did in baseball, you know you’re doing things right.”

  16. Nick in Taiwan on February 6th, 2006 2:56 pm

    Thanks msb.

I suggest a footnote, explaining this reference, be put on the bottom of every shirt or on the back of every hood, otherwise it’s just too dicey for the family friendly confines of the safe.

  17. twig on February 6th, 2006 3:05 pm

    any chance for fitted tees?

  18. DMZ on February 6th, 2006 3:14 pm

Which design, and do you promise you’ll buy one?

  19. msb on February 6th, 2006 3:20 pm

say, any plans for a pizza bash so that we can drip red sauce on our new shirts?

the first design, and as I just got paid I’ll swear I’ll get one, cross my heart, hope to die.

As luck would have it, I will be in McCall this weekend. I will take notes on the traffic so that I can qualify to wear on of those shirts.

This is going to be about the 5th worst week of the year, traffic wise. I’m going down to Middleton with some buddies to party I think, so I’ll be avoiding it. Good Luck. But last week was baaaadddd. It was the first timee ver that driving the bypass would have been faster. It took 20 mins to get from the south stoplight at Deinhard to the North stoplight at Mission (approx 2.5 miles) and parking was a disaster and the streets were filled with peds and they momentarily re-erected the signs that say “CARS MUST STOP FOR PEDS AT X-WALK” which is heavily enforced, so if you’re driving and some peds are standing at the X-Walk, let them go, because there IS a cop watching you, and they WILL ticket you, particularly if you have out of state plates. This will add 5-15 minutes to your thru town commute.

And the ice sculptures are looking pretty bad, we’ve had hot weather (~35 degrees). The snow at Brundage and Tamarack is real bad too. Don’t get your hopes up if you’re hoping to enjoy a nice winter wonderland.

  24. marbledog on February 6th, 2006 8:13 pm

After reading those last two posts, I almost regret choosing the gay paleontologist shirt over the traffic in McCall shirt.

    Almost.

  25. royal curve on February 6th, 2006 8:41 pm

I bought two shirts. Gay paleontologist and joelE. It was hard not to pick up the traffic one, also.

  26. DMZ on February 6th, 2006 9:53 pm

    Fitted tees are up.

  27. DMZ on February 6th, 2006 10:25 pm

Also: don’t resist! Buy them all!

  28. JMB on February 6th, 2006 11:50 pm

    Smashing! Yay capitalism!

  29. Evan on February 7th, 2006 10:38 am

I just grabbed a Gay Paleontologist shirt, as well. Paid the extra $6 to ship it to Canada, and everything.

Now watch Safeco ban the shirts for being offensive.

Special request for the February USSM “Fealty” White T-Shirt (with promised purchase) — as a blue-ringed Ringer T, please?

  31. msb on February 7th, 2006 2:01 pm

    #30– ditto.

  32. DMZ on February 7th, 2006 3:09 pm

    Fealty ringer’s up.

  33. msb on February 7th, 2006 6:00 pm

ah, that takes care of my birthday present!

  34. Bruce on February 8th, 2006 10:29 am
