Deja Vu All Over Again

Ah, memories.

First, there’s me remembering what it’s like to post. Second, I seem to recall doing a book signing a few months back with Jonah Keri (for a book I didn’t write, which is kind of cool, like eating nothing but dessert).

Double your pleasure, double your fun, I always say. This Monday Jonah and I are back for a second go-round, and Jonah’s doubling up on the book promotion. He’ll be signing copies of both Baseball Prospectus 2006 and Baseball Between The Numbers. I don’t know if it’s possible to have twice as much fun as I had last time — maybe if Derek shows up.

I’ll even have a special in-person only, non-baseball related announcement that will excite at least two of the likely attendees.

Appetite whetted? Then let’s have dessert.

Ah, damn. I’m going out of town this weekend and get back very very late Monday night, so I can’t make it. If I was one of the likely attendees you were referring to, can you email me (dr4b at hotmail dot com) and let me know what the announcement was?

After everyone gets Baseball Between the Numbers on Monday night, they should all make sure to read it by May 6th and come to Elliott Bay Book Company that day to discuss it with people at baseball book club, of course!

    You’re getting married?

Jonah’s already married. Angèle, I think.

I’m already married, and this isn’t Utah.

    This isn’t Utah, is it?

I don’t know. Is Airwolf hidden nearby?

Jeff, Are any of the Bassett Hounds attending as well?

  9. Jeff on March 10th, 2006 6:36 pm

Sadly, no to both: Jan-Michael Vincent is nowhere in sight and neither hound will be around.

One or both might join me for a drink at the Beveridge Place afterward, though. The hounds, not Jan-Michael Vincent.

I have a few comments about the chapters of BBTN I’ve read so far so I might join the club.

So, in case you want to watch more of the WBC, it’s airing on KIRO’s multiplex channel. Right now Puerto Rico is crushing Cuba.

I might have to drive up to Bothell for this. I actually stopped by barnes and noble on the way home from work today to pick up BP2006. Of course they were all out and didn’t know when they would get anymore copies in.

OT, but there is no ‘weekend’ segment running….

Julio Mateo left Mariners camp Saturday after learning his older brother had died in an automobile accident in the Dominican Republic on Friday night.

Mateo has returned home to Bani, Dominican Republic, and will remain there indefinitely. “We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the Mateo family,” Mariners GM Bill Bavasi said. “The thoughts and prayers of the entire Seattle organization are with Julio and his family as they deal with this tragic accident.”

    11. I had been checking at the U-Village Barnes and Noble for about a week and a half, I went in 3 times with no luck. I finally just ordered it from bn.com, it came today.
