Game 78, Mariners at Diamondbacks

Washburn v Webb! Webb rocks, and hopefully this’ll be a good game to watch. 6:40.

Still no Everett-in-the-outfield sightings, which is good.

.500! We’re the best team ever!!!

  4. IndieSnob on June 27th, 2006 9:36 pm

And Oakland and Texas are losing as of now. Hot!

I’m feeling a little giddy– the first winning month in 3 years and a .500 record…

Man, if they keep playing like this, I will have to change my name.
    Seattle mariners=mere tantalisers
but seattle mariners also = nastier steel arm

  8. Mere Tantalisers on June 27th, 2006 9:42 pm

or better yet ‘lets ream nastier’

#354: Whatever happened to SARS? Did it get canceled for low ratings?

  10. Mere Tantalisers on June 27th, 2006 9:44 pm

SARS got dropped in favor of the egyptian crotch rot.

  11. Josh on June 27th, 2006 9:45 pm

#409 – SARS = Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome

There was a minor “outbreak” of it in spring 2003, although it was mainly relegated to SE Asia and China.

Ichiro walked across the pacific and cured the masses of it. When the people said ‘thank you, Mr. Suzuki” he shrugged and said “don’t mention it. And call me Ichiro.”

KOMO just pointed out that Joh with his 2 HR, 5 RBI night was just matched by …. Miguel Olivo with 2 HR, 5 RBIs. Guess they both love that NL pitching

  14. msb on June 27th, 2006 9:51 pm

well, ok, Miguel was facing D-Rays pitching. Much the same thing, I guess.

speaking of the D’backs Chad Tracy, isn’t the newly-drafted son of Jim Tracy also a Chad?

    .500!!!!

    MY OH MY!

Lets hope this is the start of something special for the Mariners rather than the peak of their success this season.

Put away those “12th Man” flags for a while Seattle, because the Mariners might be starting to do something very special.

(strong emphasis on the word MIGHT)

Anybody ever notice Angie Mentink’s fingers? My Lord that woman has long digits. She ought to go into medicine — could do a prostate exame from across the room. I’m surprised Bill Krueger doesn’t dive under a desk when she points one of those things at him.

Our hated rivals, the Padres beat Oakland. The Giants beat Texas.

  18. zzyzx on June 27th, 2006 10:02 pm

wow the Rangers just got ROBBED. The Giants were about to beat them with a three run lead and two outs in the 9th. The Rangers rallied though and had the bases loaded and the tying run on second. Teixeira hit a ball that was just barely fair down the first baseline; it kicked up chalk on the foul line. That would have scored at least two if not all three. The ump not only missed the call, but he ejected Teixeira. His replacement flew out and the Giants won.

Sucks for the Rangers, but .5 out of second!

    Bobby Livingston is weird.

On the one hand, he had a good outing:

    6.2 5 1 1 2 3

On the other, he got just 4 groundball outs and 14 flyball outs. COMPLETELY uncharacteristic of him.

Congrats to the M’s for reaching .500. I can’t believe I’m actually excited about this team after all the crap I’ve seen in the past two years. Congratulations are also in order for Bill Bavasi, who has constructed a not entirely crappy ball club out of the 2006 Seattle Mariners team. I still think the Washburn signing is abysmal, but it looks like the rest of the team is going to end up picking up the slack.

Now… the only doubt I still have is Adrian Beltre. May he please find good fortune in the next few months to restore my chi to a non-Chan Ho Park contract place.

I missed the game, on account of drinking and hanging with friends at Brouwer’s Cafe. I was happy to come home and see the result. The headline on ESPN says all I need to know. M’s outslug Diamondbacks.

How long since we read a headline saying M’s outslug anyone?

Joh-jacks make being a Mariner fan fun! And luckily, my ipod has only broken just before the warranty expired, so where they have tried to screw me over, the guy on the production line charged with breaking them didn’t quite make it to mine.

Token chick pulling out the dead languages. Way to go Lauren.
