USSM re-floated, again

DMZ · November 6, 2006 at 2:39 am · Filed Under Site information

Thanks to everyone who helped out, now or before, by chipping in any amount of money. Grand total for the new box was just under $2,200. And if I may, this thing is faaaaaaaaaaaaast. It’s all yours, dear readers. I’m really happy – this was a long, stressful week backstage, as we fought with the box and getting a new server in while I had to turn around the copy edits for my book (received last week, due back tomorrow).

I find it amusing that when I checked in I found that once the site had gone back up, people went back to commenting on Dave’s last post without missing a beat or even noting we’d been down for a while.

If any of our fine readers are (or know) a decent accountant we could chat with, could you drop us a line? I’m not sure how we’re going to account for this thing.

Further bulletins as events warrant.

Great work guys…I know how hellish a migration like that can be.

Honestly, you should permanently leave the donation box up. My budget’s tight, but every once and I while I might have some money to slide your way, and I don’t think I’m alone in this sentiment.

You guys provide one of the greatest free services for all of us, and I don’t think it inappropriate at all for you to hint at, or even ask for, some measure of subsidy from the readers.

Thank God. My life hasn’t been the same for the last week. I really appreciate this.

It’s good to have you back.

The Mariners are currently dead to me. But as such, I crave the sort of numbness-piercing pain that only USS Mariner can deliver.

I hope you’ll keep the PayPal button up somewhere here in perpetuity. I’d still like to contribute some more. I like to pay for my pain.

The only Ms news today is one Chip Haunss filling us in on how “young” prospect Emiliano Fruto & other folks are doing playing in winter baseball. oh, and Steve Kelley takes on the Harold Reynolds story…

I donated what I could, but I had to save my money for a couple of beers at the MNF game tonight!

Seriously though, welcome back! My lunch break wasn’t the same with USSM down…

Not only that, but it only took 12 minutes for the commenting to resume, if I’m reading the comment headers right.
