Scheduling Change

Dave · August 10, 2007 at 1:00 pm · Filed Under Mariners

If you’re planning your day around listening to my weekly segment with Groz on KJR, well, first off, that’s rather sad, but secondly, you’ll want to move your listening time back a few hours – this week, we’re doing it at 5:05 pm pacific time to accommodate… I don’t know, honestly, but something else.

So, we’re still doing the USSM on KJR gig today, but just a few hours later than normal, and it will almost overlap with tonight’s first pitch. So just start your baseball listening a few minutes early tonight.

    Isn’t the first pitch at 5:14? o.o

Cutting it a little close there don’t you think?

KJR’s Groz OnDemand is missing audio archives from 8/3 to 8/5 and that means Dave’s last segment is missing as well. Be sure to listen live if you can.

Yeah, I was trying to find last week’s clips with Dave/Groz. No luck. What’s the good word on housing the clips on this site?

The 1st pitch is at 7:11 to promote 7-11 the market place. lol.

In honor of the first successful US pro-cycling team?

To celebrate July 11th, the anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte between Rollo of Normandy and Charles the Simple.

Now THIS is the kind of highbrow chatter I have come to expect on USSM…

Could it be to celebrate the birth of renowned French geographer/cartographer
    Jean-Baptiste-Bourguignon d’Anville in 1697?

It’s been a few years since I’ve been exposed to KJR, but isn’t that during ‘Groz & Gas’ time? Will the Gasman be participating?

Good news! I should be commuting by then instead of stuck in my cube with no AM radio reception.

9- That is usually Gas’s slot alone; Groz with Gas runs 3-5 whenever both of them are there (which seems increasingly rare). If it is Gas, Dave’s head might explode mid-segment- he is a big believer in chemistry. /Gag

9 – I believe that is actually past Groz & Gas time, and into full Gasman time. Maybe Gas is doing the interview? This could be bad.

various hosts are on vacation today, and they are finishing up the Seahawks practices, so Groz is coming on air at 3 (taking the G&G segment and Gas’s show) from Kirkland.

I am sad I know that.

I specifically scheduled a drive to a sales call today and was dismayed at no Dave. I am glad to see it is just later in the day.

I kind of wish Dave WAS being interviewed by Gas. Hopefully he could make Gas’ head explode. That would be a huge service to those of us who wish there was someone on the radio during our commute who knew something about baseball.

I like Groz and Gas, since they seem like genuinely good guys, and are relatively entertaining. However, to debate over which one of the two knows more about baseball is like trying to determine whether Roseanne Barr is sexier than Liza Minelli. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…

And… I don’t mean to imply that I could do their job any better, but they’re not really baseball guys. Am I a “baseball guy”? Not compared to a lot of you, but I do ok.

  15. Jay R. on August 10th, 2007 3:35 pm

14- I feel the same way. I don’t always agree with them (especially about baseball), but I am a fan of both Groz and Gas, and a huge fan of them together. I enjoy listening to old friends crack each other up.

Dave, I am guessing you will mention David Wells in your segment- hopefully you can get the KJR folks on the bandwagon, especially on the back of HoRam’s godawful ‘win’ yesterday.

According to Larry Stone, Guillen’s finger is better, so AJ is on the bench again. It was nice while it lasted…

    Suxson at 1st
    Ral in LF

Same old tired lineup for Vazquez to humiliate.

However, to debate over which one of the two knows more about baseball is like trying to determine whether Roseanne Barr is sexier than Liza Minelli.

Well Groz did start out his show today talking about how good Adam Jones looked and how the Mariners need another starter to replace HoRam. Not that either observation requires a genius IQ, but it should move him up from Roseanne Barr to Rosie O’Donnell anyway. If that is up.

bummer! i missed the last few weeks and i put a big sticky on my monitor today that said 2:20! 5:05? Thats not a good time. Oh well, next week.

  20. stango on August 10th, 2007 4:22 pm

    18-

I do think that they are starting to actually do some baseball homework BEFORE their shows these days, which is a start, but those observations are pretty obvious, too. It’s like giving credit to Steve Pool for telling us that it’s sunny out right now.

And, you’re right on, Rosie is a MUCH better comparison to Roseanne. And I think that Rosie would be a step up.

as much fun as it is to listen to that scratchy/middle-of-puberty voice…. I was not planning the day around it, lol. Calm down dude, slow down, and speak normally 🙂
