A1, but at least they completed the trade before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.

At least now we can officially reset the timer!

  4. SCL on February 8th, 2008 12:34 pm

Let’s all have a big group cry.

Remember last offseason, when it was reported that Bavasi told Jones that there was no guarantee that he wouldn’t be traded? It really seems like the Mariners have been shopping him for a long, long time.

    We still have ponies!

    And Willie Ballgame!

Just got the mail from the M’s.

    Sigh.

  10. Dayve on February 8th, 2008 12:39 pm

YAY! Now let’s start winning some ball games!

  11. Graham on February 8th, 2008 12:40 pm

I’ll miss Jones, Sherrill, and Tillman.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

  13. Desmond on February 8th, 2008 12:41 pm

So when can I get my Bedard jersey?

  14. rea on February 8th, 2008 12:42 pm

A done deal, for better or worse. I’m sure everything will come out all right in the end, as the doctor told me before my colonoscopy . . .

  15. RoninX on February 8th, 2008 12:43 pm

From the espn running of the AP announcement “Neither Tillman, Butler or Mickolio were on the Mariners’ 0-man roster.”

To be fair, its pretty tough for a minor leaguer to make a 0-man roster in this day and age.

It’s about time. We now have our own Randy Johnson/Curt Schilling.

BTW, I assume all of you will not be attending or viewing games where Erik Bedard pitches in protest of this deal? Because you wouldn’t want to support the incompetent leadership of the organization, right?

  17. Tek Jansen on February 8th, 2008 12:52 pm

Why doesn’t USSM have a sidebar link to the M’s 0-man roster. I see one for the 40-man, so what gives?

Jesus, some people are so fundamentally dense it’s astounding they don’t drown each time they try to brush their teeth.

    I like you.

Joser–That is truly a precious piece of writing.

Yeah, because it’s not like I was a fan in the 1980’s (when they were world-class incompetent AND played in a giant concrete mausoleum) or anything.

  22. Carson on February 8th, 2008 1:43 pm

Well, I’ll give the Mariners one thing.

That is one hell of a Photoshop job to have Bedard in full uniform. You’d think they had him suit up during his physical and throw a few balls.

  23. Manzanillos Cup on February 8th, 2008 2:42 pm

    Truly, a classy bunch.

Seriously. Joser, Graham, if you all are so upset about the way the team’s handled, stop supporting them. Give your opinions some teeth. Do you think continuing to give the organization your money is going to make them change your ways? Or is that what your blog comments are for?

No, the fact is that you are just a bunch of critics that keep coming back for more. It’s really an incredibly disturbed, masochistic way to approach your choice of entertainment. Me? I like to spend my free time doing things that make me happy.

But then again, if I too had a degree in Sabermetrics for the University of the Internets (with a focus on Flawed Trade Analysis), I probably would see it your way, or “not be so fundamentally dense”, as you might put it.

/calls you stupid in a clever way
