    Hey, Justin Leone! There’s a name I haven’t heard in….

(Speaking of forgotten ex-Mariner third basemen: Anybody notice what a quietly amazing set of numbers Greg Dobbs has been putting up in Phillie so far this year?)

I sure wish FSN would broadcast Rainers games instead of the Portland Beavers.

Suggesting anybody but Beltre should be our 3rd basemen is duece’n treason.

OK, so put him at DH and bench the hot youngster Vidro (or DFA him, whichever).

#2, I’ve asked this question before. Is there ANY reason that about every damn Portland Beaver game gets televised and not one Rainier game?

I know they’re semi-local but is there any specific reason we should care (as a region) about San Diego Padre players?

Because the Portland Beavers paid FSN about $500,000.

Dobbs at DH… are you related to Bavasi by any chance?

I wasn’t suggesting anything to do with Beltre. I just happened to be looking at the WPA leaders by position and was surprised to see a familiar name near the top. (I could’ve said the same thing about Ryan Franklin but nobody would be foolish enough to think I was suggesting they get him back.)

It’s nice that he’s done well in WPA, but it just proves that anything can happen over the course of 72 AB’s. Go to any AAA club and you will find no-glove non-prospects that could put up a career .277/.323/.426 line.

Sure, sure. That’s why I said “so far this year.” I don’t think anyone thinks Berkman is going to keep up his pace either. I was remarking on what I was remarking on, nothing more.

I would like to see every Mariner affiliate, or at least be able to get a package to watch “the future”. I’d like to see how Matt Tuiasosopo is progressing, watch Clement *after* he returned to Tacoma to see how he responded to being sent down, see if OFlaherty has any chance of coming back, check out the next prospect Bavasi is going to ship-out for some fading 36-year-old hack, etc.

Hmm, Dobbs can play a little first base… But we’ve got Cairo and Sexson so why would we need him?

Robert pitched decent. Not really much to talk about.

is this as good an indication as any for the difference between the NL & the AL?

Part of the reason why they don’t put R’s games on TV is that there’s really no place to put cameras in Cheney. There’s no photo/video pit and the press box doesn’t exactly provide the greatest view. They’d really have to remodel the place to make it happen. It’s tough enough getting still photos…
