Just a heads up – I’m going to be on the air with Ian Furness at 2:05 pm to talk Mariners baseball on KJR.

Any chance this becomes a regular gig with Furness?

No idea. The KJR guys know that I’m available pretty much whenever, so I’d imagine we’ll probably keep doing the irregularly schedule thing until they get tired of me.

I’m listening now and heard your point about four-A players. Curious: Who’s your Ken Phelps All-Star team?

Dammit. I missed this again. I swear it said 2:20pm earlier…

It did, I caught the very end of it myself.

Thought it was at 2:20 pm as well. At least I’m not losing my marbles.

Is the Groz chat from Friday on their site anywhere? I looked around for it briefly on the weekend and couldn’t find it.

    Slow down Dave.

I found (as usual) that I had to have a triple shot Mocha to follow you on the radio. Lucky I was prepared ahead of time.

    But an observation:

You softballed it when they asked you if anyone knew the team would be this bad, barely mentioning that the posted predictions here (some of them your own), and in other stat oriented sites/blogs all seemed to agree back in February that the M’s were going to be much worse than last year.

You avoided the opportunity to point out just how far off the mainstream sports reporting was.

    Why not take the bows?

Man. They need to give you more than a 5 minute slot. Good stuff all around. I did notice you said that the Orioles shut down Bedard last year with elbow problems. Wasn’t it an oblique strain?

Dave — really good stuff. You need a 30 minute spot each day.

You softballed it when they asked you if anyone knew the team would be this bad, barely mentioning that the posted predictions here (some of them your own), and in other stat oriented sites/blogs all seemed to agree back in February that the M’s were going to be much worse than last year.

As I remember, Dave’s prediction was 83 wins. And when the Angel pitcher injuries were announced, Dave on KJR bumped to 84 wins. Various projection programs had the Ms in the lower to upper 70 wins, but the Dave being the optomist felt the team was better than that.
