Comment of yesterday for June 4th, 2008

We had a lot of great comments (and some… less great) but this was the clear winner for me:

“I’m sure glad Barry Bonds isn’t around, poisoning the atmosphere in the clubhouse.”

Watching McLaren go off yesterday reminded me of my family upbringing. Maybe that’s what the Mariners mean when they say “family friendly.”

gosh. and imagine if the unstable element of Jose Guillen and his much-vaunted vocal leadership skills mixed in there — why, who knows what the combination of those two would have created!

and all this unfolding two days before D-Day.

To be fair, one wonders if Barry Bonds would have been enough to save this team. In fact, had he been signed and giving them something like what Thomas gave the As two years ago, the Mariners would be in a position to do stupid things at the deadline while not really good enough to contend.

Very Funny … if Bonds was here there could be a reality TV show. Heck, I would watch it – I think I am watching it.

Nonetheless, I think Ichiro should stop batting and do this at home plate.

No question he taught the guy who to do it.

    This one doesn’t wonder.

I don’t think baby Jesus could save this team.

Dear 8 pounds 6 ounces baby Jesus, new born, not even spoken a word yet.

Dear Lord Baby Jesus, I want to thank you for this wonderful meal, my two beautiful son’s, Walker and Texas Ranger, and my Red-Hot Smokin’ Wife, Carley

Save the Mariners baby Jesus (or Jewish god)

As you might imagine, U.S.S. Mariner’s been all over this one. But as DMZ points out, the best line comes from a commenter: “I’m sure glad Barry Bonds isn’t around, poisoning the atmosphere in the clubhouse.”

    DMZ with the national shout-out.
