Rainiers Game Thread

With no Mariners game tonight, why not turn the dial and listen to the Rainiers? Lots of interesting stuff tonight in what could be the Rainiers last game ever in Tucson (the franchise moves to Reno next year). Brandon Morrow makes his second start, with a 50 pitch limit, and goes against fireballer Max Scherzer. Justin Upton will also be in the Sidewinders line-up as he continues his rehab stint.

As always, the games are carried live at TacomaRainiers.com or on 850 AM, with the always awesome Mike Curto bringing you the action.

so, Tucson– that would mean the game starts at 6 PT, right?

No, 7 pm pacific time – Arizona’s MST, not MDT.

Morrow-Scherzer should be fun. Go get em, Brandon!

Dave – while we talking pitching prospects. I noticed Tillman is having a great year in AA with a really good K rate and he’s only 20. Is his quick development a surprise or is there no reason to get any more depressed about the trade?

I’m at work, is there a gamecast for this game? I don’t see it on the rainiers site…

Use the minorleaguebaseball.com scoreboard, they’ve got Gameday much like the major league site.

    That didn’t go very well – 2 2/3 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 2 K.

His command problems aren’t a thing of the past yet.

Indeed they’re not, and at this rate it will be an accomplishment if he can go five innings before Tacoma’s season is over.

I can’t wait until the Sidewinders move to Reno! I may actually catch some of the home games vs. the Rainers… here’s hoping that the Mariner’s future gets brighter with players from the Rainers!

How was Scherzer tonight? I heard earlier in the season that the D-Backs were planning to bring him up in September for the playoff run. Any truth to this, anyone?

    Scherzer: 5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 7 K
