Dave, Dave… The month that comes after August in not July.

Oh, well, we love you anyway.

interesting wind-up on Jackson. he needs some stirrups on those high socks, though.

all this talk about Beltre’s ‘head-up’ play yesterday, where he ay have broken up the DP by getting hit; there have been a number of times where Adrian has shown a real awareness of those unwritten ‘little things’, which makes other things like his constant checking of his own checked-swings so baffling. Or endearing.

Is there any reason why we gave up Choo?

  5. joser on August 31st, 2008 10:32 am

Choo. Hmmm. The karma wheel for the M’s turns slowly, but crushes exceedingly fine.

  6. msb on August 31st, 2008 10:32 am

why does Rizzs persist in calling Choo ‘the little guy’? He even said in the intro to his pregame interview, ‘a little guy with a lot of pop’.

  7. kyoko on August 31st, 2008 10:33 am

Now Choo is even hitting homeruns against lefties when the Mariners are pitching against him

    MSB:

He saw him in the shower once.

I’m happy that Clement is getting a chance to hit against the dreaded lefty pitcher.

why, if Cairo keeps having at-bats like that, he could assume the mantle of Professional Hitter (TM)

I think a kid in little leauge wouldn’t have swung at that last pitch Yuni struck out on.

    Grady Sizemore is from Washington!?!

  13. scottiedawg on August 31st, 2008 11:00 am

12-Yup, went to Cascade HS. Almost came and played QB and OF for the Huskies, but couldn’t turn down 2 million from the Expos.

is it just me, or is Dodge trying to shift its truck-buying market to the male model?

    Beltre x2

  19. joser on August 31st, 2008 11:29 am

Hey! This is what it feels like when the other guy’s starting pitching blows up. I’d been wondering what it felt like for fans of other teams facing Silva or Batista…

  20. abender20 on August 31st, 2008 11:30 am

That’s an awful lot of funk for one day out of Beltre.

Good to see him finally getting some success out of the line drives he has been stroking all over the place. Heading back toward the mean in a good way. A funky way.

Hey, Jackson’s had a pretty good game. He just had that one bad inning. If you ignore it, he’s close to getting a Quality Start.

Wait, sorry. I was supposed to have my sarcasm module detuned.

Sounds like a Washburn start to me.

  23. msb on August 31st, 2008 12:54 pm

I zzz-d off in the 7th and when I woke up I thought the inning was still going … but, it was just the messy 8th.

  24. Marihawks on August 31st, 2008 1:00 pm

Batista looked solid…. thats a first.

  25. msb on August 31st, 2008 1:01 pm

the groundballingest groundballer can’t find the ground.

  26. Marihawks on August 31st, 2008 1:05 pm

oh my gosh what does a balla got to do to get a strike!!!

  27. JR Ewing on August 31st, 2008 1:10 pm

He should only throw pitches when Blue Angels are over the stadium, in order to distract the hitters from the high, meaty, fastballs.

  28. msb on August 31st, 2008 1:26 pm

I suppose the thought of 120+ MPH winds could be in the back of his mind today ….
