And the season starts

Finally! Sure, it’s Atlanta at Philly. But it’s real, counts-in-the-standings baseball. The M’s will be playing in Minnesota tomorrow and we’re off.

This makes me happy.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!

And sure, it’s just Philly and Atlanta, but at least we get the pleasure of watching Ibanez gallop around the outfield.

I am originally from Philly and when I go to Phillies Nation and read their blog, many are thrilled Ibanez is there. I guess they are comparing him to the previous LF who was also at the bottom of the list on Defense.

I am much happier with Endy Chavez and Frankie Gut. in the OF. They probably won’t put up the O numbers of RI but their defense will be fun to watch and enjoy the D numbers. Here we go!

Did anyone happen to see the MLB Network prediction show? They assistant GM from the Rangers or whoever he is had what I thought was a rather ironic quote of, “I love hitting… and I like pitching.”

And did anyone read a Sporting News article awhile back where Curtis Granderson named Raul Ibanez as the second or third best defensive outfielder in the league?

Just thought these both were pretty funny…

I read this as well. Curtis Granderson has a great future as the Isaiah Thomas of his sport. Can’t remember is Curtis specified which league he was talking about. Little League? Sunday Softball Beer League?

At this point in the season, I guess the only question is this – who’d you rather have? Carlos Silva or Brett Myers?
