Wow. I was shocked to hear you say it’s safe to get excited about the team if we’re 3-4 games ahead of the Angels at the end of the month. To hell with conservatism.
I’ve been telling people that these team had a 15-20% chance of making the playoffs all winter. If we get to the end of April and have a decent margin on the Angels, odds are pretty good that they won’t run away from us. They’re not good enough to beat us by 15 games in 5 months.
I do remember the 15%-20% projections preseason. But I also recall every team in the division having about that chance save for the Angels. “Excited” to me means we’ve got at least a 35%-40% chance of winning this thing. Hence my surprise at your comments on the show today. Not that I disagree, because I don’t.
