I strongly encourage USSM to adopt the “always use Mr after the first” style rule. It’s lovely.

Nice read Dave, short but sweet. I had never put 2 and 2 together with Oakland and their young GB pitchers. Every team in baseball should envy the A’s for having Billy Beane in their organization.

Nice article, good read. Of course, Ubaldo Jimenez was a factor in their World Series post-season run too (where his GB% was almost 54, and was mixed with a lot of good defensive play and an unsustainably high LOB%) that got a lot of people saying “what if” he puts it all together. He was pretty valuable to the team despite costing them almost nothing last year. If he manages some control, I can’t even think about the possibilities.

Very good. Very interesting. I didn’t realize that was Derek Lowe’ forte. I note that we have a couple of uber groundballers as well. Maybe we won’t be playing catchup to the A’s this time on personnel evaluation.
