ARGH. I can’t find anywhere that tells me how many one hitters Randy Johnson has and my Internet connection is slower than waiting for the library to open on Monday and looking in the reference section!

Attaboy, Ichiro! Way to run hard all the way.

  3. Benne on April 19th, 2009 3:32 pm

Holy crap the offense did something!

  4. juneau_fan on April 19th, 2009 3:35 pm

Is it me, or does this damn min sirloin burger ad play every break?

For the Dish people, that must be particularly nice, coming in the middle of the inning.

  5. Benne on April 19th, 2009 3:35 pm

Wow, another weak groundout. Haven’t seen one of those in a while.

  6. DLCheeZ on April 19th, 2009 3:42 pm

At least Lopez won’t be holding Cabrera this time.

Why is it that no one on this announcing team can tell interesting stories or something when the game takes a turn south anymore?

Niehaus used to do that all time. Some of the most enjoyable games I remember listening to him were in total blowouts. The game became just a nice backdrop for his tales… I miss that.

Now, it really seems like the only time Blowers/Sims talk is when they SHOULDN’T be chatting or cutting away from the game.

    AKA – F’ing Rally Fries.

I would, however, personally support Rally Fries as a first ballot inductee at Cooperstown.

Rally Fries are retarded we haven’t had a rally in 6 years.

Yuni needs to draw a freaking walk.

  11. Benne on April 19th, 2009 3:56 pm

Jesus, this game is still going on?

  12. bratman on April 19th, 2009 3:57 pm

Jesus, this game is still going on?

Get used to it. We can’t hit.

  13. Benne on April 19th, 2009 3:57 pm

    Finally over.

  14. bratman on April 19th, 2009 3:58 pm

Not to mention we made their pitcher, who made his second start of his life, look like cy young.

    That is what we do.

    Bratman –
I really hate to be “that” person. But, personally, I would prefer if you didn’t use retarded in that derogatory manner.

I apologize, I realized I should not have said that afterward but I can’t change it.

I’ll just say, I can’t stand Rally Fries. I almost have to mute the telecast sometimes because Sims and Blowers make me want to cry out of embarrassment for our organization.

Death to the Rally Fries! On the positive side, the M’s are 8-5, leading their division. Two weeks ago if this were offered to us, we would have jumped at it. And the games have generally been quick moving, which keeps the D more involved. Now if we just kill the rally fries, life would be good.

    At the game today:
    Porcello was very good.
Silva had very marginal stuff. On the few occasions when he managed to throw a first pitch strike, Detroit would work the count full, with prdictable results. He barely kept the game in reach, with some outstanding defense from Cedeno and Beltre.
Bautista in relief was not sharp, which mattered very little, since Yuni was sucktastic, with back to back errors which put the game out of reach, as well as the fielding range of, of,…no metaphor bad enough comes to mind.
On the plus side, as a smoker, I time my nicotine fixes around dancing groundskeepers and Rally Fries jumbotron crap. I suggest you all become addicted, and do the same.

we haven’t had a rally in 6 years.

Excuse me? By the popular definition of “rally” they had one against Verlander just two days ago. How soon we forget.

ARGH. I can’t find anywhere that tells me how many one hitters Randy Johnson has and my Internet connection is slower than waiting for the library to open on Monday and looking in the reference section!

B-R finds 4 (assuming complete games — he’s appeared in 21 games where he’s only given up one hit).

    At the game today:
Miguel Cabrerra is not as husky as he is on TV.
Also N.S.C.S.: not so N.S. as far as I could tell.

Miguel Cabrerra is not as husky as he is on TV.

that’s what I thought– he is a large man, but not as big as he seems on tv …

“Not so N.S.” I agree. If Silva did shed 30 lbs at one point I think he’s put a good amount back on. He is one portly dude.
