That will make the airwaves happier.

I look forward to Dave pre-empting the “Clement has had his chance in the bigs and he didn’t hit” criticism.

Ugh, I forgot that tuning in early means I have to listen to random callers.

Poor Brock, not getting any love in the baseball conversation…

So to recap… nothing that regular readers haven’t read here.

    * Varga should move into the rotation, Silva should take over the mop-up role, Murder He Wrote should take over Kelley’s role until he recovers.

    * Beltre has had bad luck but gets himself out too often… like pretty much every other hitter in the lineup. Bavasi assembled swing-happy fools and this is the offense we get.

I am sure that folks like Brock, Salk, and some FO guys read this blog. I’m just curious if they ever comment. In any case, more motivation to keep it smart here.

Which leads to Salk’s bafflement with the polarizing effect Ichiro has on the fans …

Did you catch the caller who was on right before you?

He thinks the M’s biggest problem is Ichiro, because he hits into more double plays than anyone. So, the M’s should trade him.

Forget making this team better. Can we make a trade with another state for some of their smarter people?

Some of you were mentioning Lefty offensive options for the M’s a few days ago. Alexi Casilla just got demoted in Minnesota. What is the sentiment as to whether he could be an option for Lefty (actually switch hitting) middle infielder? He’s played SS and 2B. He hasn’t hit well this year…but maybe a change of scenery/team would help?

  10. joser on May 6th, 2009 12:38 pm

Casilla is interesting, if only because he looks like he’d be cheap and he definitely hits righties better than lefties… though he’s not hitting anything at the moment.

Casilla is making less contact and worse contact this year than last, and his last year wasn’t all that great. I don’t think we want someone who has the ceiling of a one-win upgrade versus Yuni.
If we’re going to be dealing, I hope it’s something better than that.

The Sonics tried this and ended up in Oklahoma. Whoops! Any word if Bavasi in charge of that deal?

    (kidding, kidding)

My wife’s from Oklahoma. She has a PhD, and teaches part-time at a local university.

Dumb people are everywhere. (Smart ones, too.) Remember the average person you went to high school with? Just keep in mind that half the people in this country are dumber than that.

  14. RoninX on May 6th, 2009 3:55 pm

Hence the “kidding, kidding”… besides Seattle sports fan have a carte blanche open season on all things Oklahoma for at least 5 years.

As to your second point, I went to High School in Michigan, and our test scores say that substantially less than half the country is dumber than the average kid *I* went to high school with. 😉

Hey, I am that average kid you went to school with. (That really high score I got on the only SAT test I ever took? Small sample size weirdness.)
