Saw that coming. Gotta hit the jack on your bobblehead night, man.

  2. Liam on August 7th, 2009 9:09 pm

FSN needs to stop zooming in so close to the balls hit in the air.

  3. juneau_fan on August 7th, 2009 9:14 pm

Finally! Jeez, does it seem like the opposing pitcher gets 7-8 innings every night?

  4. msb on August 7th, 2009 9:15 pm

When everyone knows your starting pitcher only pitches 5 or 6.

  5. juneau_fan on August 7th, 2009 9:19 pm

    Johnson up, of course.

And naturally he gets one of his damn hits!

  6. Anthony on August 7th, 2009 9:22 pm

Sweeney for Saunders??? Wak?!?!?!? Sweeney is STILL washed up, regardless of his KC home run

  7. juneau_fan on August 7th, 2009 9:24 pm

I figured that Sweeney was at least worth a walk. He may be old and washed up, but he’s no fool.

But he takes one for the team!

  8. Liam on August 7th, 2009 9:24 pm

PitchFX and the umpire are having a big disagreement tonight.

  9. ndrfx on August 7th, 2009 9:25 pm

Wow, some great calls here for the M’s.

  10. juneau_fan on August 7th, 2009 9:26 pm

Like Sweeney showing Griffey his boo-boo.

    Ichiro!

    Ichiro!

    Ichiro!

  11. Anthony on August 7th, 2009 9:27 pm

    Ichiro!

  12. juneau_fan on August 7th, 2009 9:28 pm

He’s the most interesting man alive.

  13. hidalgo on August 7th, 2009 9:29 pm

    Wak is God!

  14. hidalgo on August 7th, 2009 9:29 pm

    Wak is God!

  15. juneau_fan on August 7th, 2009 9:30 pm

Ichiro looked as though he had to put his heart back in his chest on that scamper back to first base.

Who does Maddon think he is, Casey Stengel?

  16. NoStars on August 7th, 2009 9:32 pm

Dan Wheeler is one of those guys who does not look like they’d be good at anything resembling athletics. But the beard helps.

  17. msb on August 7th, 2009 9:33 pm

He has an interesting glove wiggle, though

  18. wescottr on August 7th, 2009 9:38 pm

can anyone remember the last time we saw a seattle SS make a play like that? you are loved Jack…you are loved

  19. EricL on August 7th, 2009 9:44 pm

can anyone remember the last time we saw a seattle SS make a play like that?

Yep. He’s playing in Texas now.

  20. Liam on August 7th, 2009 9:49 pm

    Gutierrez with the golden sombrero.

  21. juneau_fan on August 7th, 2009 9:53 pm

I feel bad for Gutierrez. Has he been hitting at all since crashing into that wall?

  22. juneau_fan on August 7th, 2009 10:08 pm

My god, at the lanced boil obsession!

  23. juneau_fan on August 7th, 2009 10:16 pm

You know, when he was up 0-2, I thought, he’s going to walk him, because AA’s gotta have at least one baserunner, or his night isn’t complete.

  24. G-Man on August 7th, 2009 10:23 pm

No way Ichiro should be running here. It is so much better for Branyan for him to stay at first.

  25. G-Man on August 7th, 2009 10:27 pm

OK, OK, as long as Branyan doesn’t do that.

  26. juneau_fan on August 7th, 2009 10:29 pm

    Oh man.

  27. juneau_fan on August 7th, 2009 10:32 pm

HEH. Uh, Evan, it wasn’t Ichiro running. Jr can only push his walker so fast.

  28. GoMariners on August 7th, 2009 10:40 pm

Sometimes I feel that our team is like a house of cards…

  29. Liam on August 7th, 2009 10:56 pm

    I don’t believe what I just saw.

  30. NoStars on August 7th, 2009 10:56 pm

    No effing way!

  31. JMHawkins on August 7th, 2009 10:56 pm

Sometimes I feel that our team is like a house of cards…

    Some house. Some cards.

  32. cdowley on August 7th, 2009 10:56 pm

    LANGERHANS!!

And Sims goes insane in disbelief!

  33. juneau_fan on August 7th, 2009 10:57 pm

    Wow.

I can’t believe it either, Liam. I truly didn’t believe until it landed in the seats.

  34. henryv on August 7th, 2009 10:57 pm

Okay, so, given 1000 opportunities to describe how this game would end, I don’t think I could have described it ending like that.

    Freaking beautiful.

  35. apunetid on August 7th, 2009 10:57 pm

    Crazy!!!

  36. GoMariners on August 7th, 2009 10:57 pm

Heck, yeah, 7-6, Langerhans with a walkoff, lefty on lefty with Langerhans batting .200 vs lefties and 2 strikes on him with 2 outs!!!!! That’s why I love baseball!!! Anf Girffey homered on his bobblehead night.

  37. juneau_fan on August 7th, 2009 10:58 pm

How long was this damn game, anyway? I feel as though we’ve been living two lifetimes. And no one left. Good on them.

  38. apunetid on August 7th, 2009 10:58 pm

That’s quite a spike on fangraphs!

  39. GoMariners on August 7th, 2009 10:58 pm

5.5 behinf Boston for the wild card!!!

  40. cdowley on August 7th, 2009 11:00 pm

They sure have had a thing for long games this week… Two three and a half hour slugfests, now this 4-hour gem. The guys have gotta be bushed about now…

  41. Nik Aitken on August 7th, 2009 11:00 pm

    Langerhans!

  42. BLYKMYK44 on August 7th, 2009 11:07 pm

I will admit that I had to leave early tonight. Oh well…guess karma got the best of me…Bartlett’s HR landed exactly at my now vacated seat.

  43. TomTuttle on August 7th, 2009 11:25 pm

    I am 5-1 this year with 4 walk-off hits!!!

    Woohoo!

  44. Lauren, token chick on August 7th, 2009 11:45 pm

Holy shit, y’all! I was at a friend’s house tonight and kept drifting over to her computer to check the score(s), esp. since it was Felix Day. I kept checking during the tie and when the Rays scored at the top of the 11th almost didn’t bother to look back. Langerhans! Unreal.

  45. dsmiley on August 8th, 2009 12:06 am

I must also admit to leaving early. I was at the game and had to leave at 10:30 because of bus schedules. Oh I wish I could have stayed! [insert rant about no more shuttle buses]

Wow, what a way to end it. I didn’t think we had a chance after the TB homer in the top of the 11th. Amazing!

The atmosphere at Safeco was insane all night, especially after the Griffey HR. During Griffey at-bats, the whole stadium was singing and waving to Naughty By Nature, just like old times. When Branyan came to bat in the 7th after Ichiro’s RBI single, it was so loud that the PA announcer didn’t even announce Branyan. THAT’s how nuts it was. Probably the best atmosphere at a game I’ve been to in five years.

  46. PearlDrumBum on August 8th, 2009 12:17 am

I Was there!! I had to fend off the complaining wife to be able to stay the whole time, and now spend the night on the couch… but i was there!!!

  47. juneau_fan on August 8th, 2009 1:26 am

    BEST POST EVER, PearlDrumBurn.

Must be why the thread was so dead; everyone was at the game.

  48. galaxieboi on August 8th, 2009 5:50 am

Langerhans’ home run was worth 85.8% on the WE scale.

  49. flashbeak on August 8th, 2009 7:56 am

Agh. I hate living in NJ.
