7:05, Sergio Mitre (whee) versus Luke French (yay!)
I’m sortof losing my ability to care about the lineups that Wak runs out, so feel free to post them in the comments.

The ump needs to get off his knees Cause he is BLOWING THE GAME
Even the Yankee game threads are talking about what a terrible call that was.
Langerhans has turned doubles into singles three times tonight.
I’ve been flipping constantly back and forth between The Seahawks and The Mariners. And one game is frankly a lot more entertaining than the other (guess which one). But I decided to devote a substantial amount of uninterrupted viewing to The M’s bases loaded fiasco, just to see one of the worst calls ever made, and complete failure to get a hit.
Thanks I know I somehow totally deserved that as a reward for my loyalty.
Uh…that last pitch was in the batters box on the tracer.
How in the hell does this guy have a job?
Well, yeah, you’re gonna rack up some Ks if the ump won’t let a guy take a flippin’ ball.
Griffey time! ahahaha not.
*sigh*
When can we get a real DH?
Has it ever been mentioned that Jeter wears man tights?
WHY DO YOU STEAL THIRD IN THAT POSITION!?! WHY!?!
About the time we have more than 1 or two players that can consistently get on base.
What the hell did I just see happen!!!!!! My frustration is very high now!!
I already know I dislike CB Bucknor after he prematurely (and smugly) ejected Lou Piniella a number of years ago. I’m not sure whether this underscores my dislike, or I just should trust ESPN’s Gamecast. Either way, what’s wrong with this image:

Note where the balls were called, and where the first strike was called (looking). Has anyone else noticed a lot of discrepancies in the balls/strike calling lately? USSMariner is right when they call for an automated system.
Heck, they can even keep the Homeplate ump back there with an earpiece in and he can make the call based on what the computer tells him to his ear. For “posterity” sake.
You’ll still need humans for stuff other than balls and strikes anyway, so the earpiece would be fine. The umpire can even call what he wants as far as I’m concerned, just so long as he knows that he’s overriding what the computer told him.
If Russell hits a HR in his at-bat, will there be mass suicide in this thread? Or just deep, deep despair?
I’d be much happier with that than if he makes an out.
You’re using a mac?
This marks the game in which I’ve officially given up hope for a playoff appearance. Sure, I’ve known it’s been a longshot for a while, but this is it. Not that we’d do much in the postseason anyway. This series has been painful to watch–like slowly ripping a huge Band-Aid off a festering wound.
So is there some review authority that provides feedback to umpires and helps them stop, you know, sucking?
I’m pathetically sobbing, Just hit a homerun!
And it didn’t happen….
If you’ve got an umpire making bad calls, does it pay to be a hacker?
Bottom line: they’re just better than us, in every respect.
It’s not a huge surprise given how much money they spend, but it does show how far we are from getting to the elite level.
The biggest bummer is that since we’re in the AL we have to go through NY and Bos every year just to get to the World Series.
We’re getting better, but we’re still probably two years away.
Oh yes, because we all know Macs are the antichrist when it comes to computing systems and the like. Obviously…
Isn’t it about time America found a cure for the Yankees? It’d probably put the tumor that has become the Red Sox into remission as well.
Figures that it would’ve been Bucknor making probably the most blatently bad call I’ve ever seen in all my years of watching the game. I mean, I know he’s had it in for the M’s for years now…but, geez, he might as well just have worn a pinstriped Yanks jersey out there behind the plate. >:(
Alas, welcome to WWE-MLB, my friends. With such obviously biased “officiating” going on in what seems to be all of professional team sports these days, it’s no damn wonder so many kids now are paying more attention to sports like MMA, skatebording and extreme biking.
