Game 140, Mariners at Anaheim

DMZ · September 9, 2009 at 6:05 pm · Filed Under Mariners

Snell v Jered Weaver.

Here’s a lineup for you…
RF-L Ichiro!
CF-R Gutierrez
2B-R Lopez
DH-L Griffey
3B-R Beltre
LF-R Hall
1B-L Carp
C-R Johjima
SS-R Jack Wilson

That’s pretty close to a lineup-by-OBP even with Griffey in the DH=4th slot.

SS is Josh WIlson; Jack is out with the flu

Arrggh, Kruger just said he wants to bring Sweeney back “if there’s any way”, but says the presence of Griffey makes it hard.

I guess I’ll just consider it a gain if they only return one of the two.

Ask Kruger whether you should use 5-30 or 10-40 as your hair product given a particular weather situation, but on roster analysis? Please.

What is the name of the Mariners charity where they bring in aging veterans and give them a spot on the 25-man roster?

  5. juneau_fan on September 9th, 2009 7:14 pm

I can’t believe that Weaver got rid of his scraggly hair.

One less thing to mock. Damn.

  6. JerBear on September 9th, 2009 7:28 pm

That was an awesome play by Ichiro – nice fake.

  7. Breadbaker on September 9th, 2009 7:28 pm

Snell just unaccountably loses the strike zone about once a game.

  8. msb on September 9th, 2009 7:31 pm

    Ana 4, Sea 0
    Sac 5, Tac 0

  9. juneau_fan on September 9th, 2009 7:31 pm

I sense that Wak’s just going to keep him out there. This is going to be….what is the word? Interesting? Heartbreaking? Trainwreck?

  10. JerBear on September 9th, 2009 7:32 pm

Well, frick. Whatever, I have some 34 episodes to watch tonight anyway.

  11. JerBear on September 9th, 2009 7:34 pm

And by 34, of course, I mean 24.

Actually “34” is the next big thing – it’s way cooler.

Hey! the Mariners are #1 in this scenario:

    restoring the rosters

  13. Jake N. on September 9th, 2009 7:43 pm

The Mariners look really flat. Man do not just mail in the rest of the season. April is a long way off.

  14. juneau_fan on September 9th, 2009 7:51 pm

Well, Joh’s trying, Jake, but I know what you mean.

“Kenji’s starting to swing the bat better,” said Blowers.

It certainly helps to be in the batter box instead of the dugout.

  15. Liam on September 9th, 2009 7:51 pm

That’s going to be an odd highlight for Kenji with Dave Niehaus giving credit for the home run to Josh Wilson.

  16. juneau_fan on September 9th, 2009 8:05 pm

What in the world is Dave talking about?

Please get Rivera out, Snell, so that this weird story can end.

  17. juneau_fan on September 9th, 2009 8:05 pm

Morales, I mean. Brain is drifting like Dave’s.

  18. juneau_fan on September 9th, 2009 8:31 pm

That would have been funny if Josh Wilosn’s ball had gone out. Then they could have used Dave’s call.

You guys forgot to mention that Batista has been DFA’d!

What? Batista HASN’T been DFA’d? God damnit. It was such a beautiful dream.

  20. juneau_fan on September 9th, 2009 8:50 pm

A home run can’t even bring us out of our stupor.

Guess we shouldn’t rag on the players for dogging it when we can’t even get ourselves going.

    I’ll try.

    Whoo. hoo….

  21. SonOfZavaras on September 9th, 2009 9:41 pm

    Ahem.

    Testng, 1,2,3…testing.

    Woo-hoo.

    Woo-hooooooo.

    (cough)

    Okay, now….

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOO!!! GO MARINERS! GET THIS WIN, I WANT OVER .500 FOR THE SEASON, DAGNABBIT!!!

(Of course, I’m a caffeine addict and always have a readily available supply of nervous/excitability energy…)

  22. PWRSTROKIN on September 9th, 2009 9:47 pm

Well the Umpire is excited, does that count?

  23. TWownsU on September 9th, 2009 9:51 pm

I liked what Trevor Bell was giving us.

  24. juneau_fan on September 9th, 2009 9:53 pm

I assumed the tubes were clogged.

If they score and get it to 6-5, I’m going to cry.

What happened with the ump, btw? I was looking away and they never replay the good stuff like streakers. Did he backhand the ball boy?

Interesting article, thanks for the link!

Say, I wonder why Hall played against a righthander instead of either Saunders or Langerhans? Anyone aware of the reason?
