Why do weather woes seem to follow the Mariners while the beautiful Safe sits in Seattle waiting patiently for the arrival of [its] oft maligned yet beloved occupants?

And of course the game where Ichiro will most likely break the record is blacked out on mlb.com. I freaking hate these stupid blackout rules. Bullshit.

That’s some heads-up baserunning there, Guti!

Well, as far as ESPN and mlb.com are concerned, I guess it’s more important for the whole country to see the Phils behind washed-up old Pedro shut down the pathetic Mets than it is for M’s fans three thousand miles away to be able to follow Ichi’s quest for another milestone.

    There it is! Congrats Ichiro!!!!

  6. scott19 on September 13th, 2009 6:35 pm

    Speaking of which…CONGRATS ICHI!!! 🙂

How underwhelming, Texas. I was at the Mariners game when Palmeiro got his 2000 hits, and the damn thing came to a halt.

Then again, I can stand that crap, so let it be! And pushed in a run too.

  8. JerBear on September 13th, 2009 6:38 pm

And of course their “Live Look-in” didn’t work either. Ichiro just did something that has never happened in baseball history, setting an almost decade long record, and I don’t get to watch it because MLB doesn’t give a flying rat’s ass.

Did they even throw the ball back in?

Did they even throw the ball back in?

I remember reading somewhere that the baseball hall of fame wants that ball… so yeah they probably took it out of play. I was hoping Ichiro would blast hit #200 in the seats, so someone could blackmail MLB for lots of SWAG/money.

Nice hustle by Jack Wilson, that’s why you always have to try.

  12. Liam on September 13th, 2009 7:09 pm

They had a close up of Ichiro’s elbow pad, I didn’t know that it had his name on them.

  13. Holmes on September 13th, 2009 7:17 pm

Felix looks good thus far… just wish his pitch count was lower.

  14. juneau_fan on September 13th, 2009 7:27 pm

I don’t get why Ichiro’s elbow pad isn’t on his elbow.

Wow at the MLB picture of Freddie Garcia. He’s looking ridden hard and put away wet.

I have to say that whatever the field conditions are in reality, that grounds crew must have worked like dogs to make this place look like anything other than the Okeefenokee Swamp after last night.

  16. Breadbaker on September 13th, 2009 7:33 pm

    Let the rains come!

  17. Holmes on September 13th, 2009 7:40 pm

rob johnson…. (shaking my head and sighing)

  18. Holmes on September 13th, 2009 7:48 pm

    Double Play! Nice for Felix!

  19. juneau_fan on September 13th, 2009 7:50 pm

How many years since Everyday Eddie slunk away in shame? And he’s still chugging away?

$129 bat commemorating Ichiro’s record. I wonder where all those bats would have gone if he didn’t get to 200.

    Yay! Felix Day!

and I managed to see part of it!

  22. DMZ on September 13th, 2009 7:54 pm

I love Blowers needling Rizzs about the hat. Rizzs sounds like he’s getting a little edgy. Mike should push it. “Oh, are you worried it’d cover up that handsome head of hair, Rick?”

  23. msb on September 13th, 2009 7:56 pm

    Rizzs has a hat?

    Why?

  24. DMZ on September 13th, 2009 8:04 pm

No, they showed some kid with a giant oversized novelty cowboy hat, and Blowers was trying to get Rizzs to agree to try it on.

  25. juneau_fan on September 13th, 2009 8:06 pm

If he put that hat on, his hair would probably come off with it.

    He can’t risk it.

  26. msb on September 13th, 2009 8:07 pm

I’d pay money to see that.

  27. DMZ on September 13th, 2009 8:12 pm

Me too. They should do this as a Mariner Care charity event.

I’ll miss hearing the name Wee Willie Keeler. It’s just such a fun name.
