Game 15, Orioles at Mariners

Hernandez vs Vargas, 7:10 pm

Despite his power displays the last couple of days, Wak decides to keep the standard line-up he’s been running out there the last week or so. Probably playing the “if it ain’t broke” card, so we’ll have to see a low scoring game or two before he gives up on the inexplicable Lopez/Griffey tandem in the 4/5 spots.

Vargas looks to match Fister again in the “leave me in the rotation contest”. Will be interesting to see how much he features that cutter again tonight.

Ichiro, RF
Figgins, 2B
Gutierrez, CF
Lopez, 2B
Griffey, DH
Bradley, LF
Kotchman, 1B
Moore, C
Wilson, SS

Did he just miss one… for a single?

Lauren, TC – That happens to me in both Chrome and Opera. You don’t like it? I prefer it.

Maybe because in Opera it used to always reload at the top of the page, regardless of where I was scrolled to.

Too bad the M’s don’t have an outfielder on the bench who can, oh, you know, hit right handed pitchers.

  4. Kazinski on April 20th, 2010 8:47 pm

Two hits in an inning and not even a sniff at a run.

I’m glad we have such good pitching.

i use chrome and it takes me to mmy comment. I actually like that feature

    kaz-
    and defense. Don’t forget defense.

I shudder to think what would have happened if Wilson managed to run us out of that 3rd inning last night, that would have been the 2nd out, before we scored a run. Take out that inning we were outscored 2-1. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.

  8. Carson on April 20th, 2010 8:57 pm

    Yay, Adam Moore!

  9. Paul B on April 20th, 2010 8:58 pm

There we go, a double from our catcher!

  10. Dirk on April 20th, 2010 8:58 pm

Moore’s Average just went up 31 points

  11. Carson on April 20th, 2010 9:00 pm

    Very nice AB by Wilson.

  12. MarinerMan24 on April 20th, 2010 9:00 pm

Nice, back to back solid hits by the black hole of our offense. These are big runs!

  13. Kazinski on April 20th, 2010 9:01 pm

That’s why you put the power in the back of the order, back to back doubles are huge.

  14. King.Dome on April 20th, 2010 9:01 pm

There we go bottom of the lineup. Wilson is heating up, look out. Ha.

  15. Paul B on April 20th, 2010 9:02 pm

Wilson has had a couple of at bats tonight where he looked good. Maybe he’s been watching Figgy.

See Jack, that’s what happens when you have enough patience to go 3-1.

  17. MarinerMan24 on April 20th, 2010 9:03 pm

Its so big if Moore just starts to relax and actually becomes a threat at the plate. also does Jack lead our team in doubles?

It’s great that it takes you to your comment when you make it, but then say you want to see more comments so you reload. When you reload again in the future, it goes back to your comment–which at that point may be 15-20 comments in the past.

Definitely better than going back to the top of the page, I’ll give you that.

Rangers stole 9 bases tonight off of Wakefield? And then they lost the game? Oh, Fenway.

  20. my sugarsoul on April 20th, 2010 9:06 pm

    Wakefield/V-Mart, that is.

  21. ZVAZDA on April 20th, 2010 9:10 pm

    Lauren –

I guess you’re not posting often enough. 😀

  22. Dirk on April 20th, 2010 9:13 pm

Nice 7 pitch inning for Lowe

  23. MarinerFanMike03 on April 20th, 2010 9:17 pm

This is why I love watching the Mariners. Solid ball playing!

  24. Ben Zimmerman on April 20th, 2010 9:18 pm

After tonight’s fine work, M’s will have three starters in the top 20 in WHIP in the A.L.

  25. JMHawkins on April 20th, 2010 9:18 pm

So, Sweeney gets the start tomorrow vs a RHP because he hasn’t had enough ABs.

  26. Kazinski on April 20th, 2010 9:23 pm

And they can’t run for Griffey in the 8th because Byrnes is already in the game.

If Bradley keeps having injury issues, tomorrow’s start may be Sweeney’s swan song.

  27. tubbabubba22 on April 20th, 2010 9:28 pm

Griffey has a couple of real nice hits and a walk today! Good game. Need that from him.

  28. ZVAZDA on April 20th, 2010 9:33 pm

1 game over .500, zooming into Felix-Day? Yeah. I’ll take it.

  29. Carson on April 20th, 2010 9:34 pm

Okay, if I go to a game soon, should I leave through that exit and hold up a USSM sign?

  30. joser on April 20th, 2010 9:41 pm

Griffey with two singles into RF just over the heads of the infield.

The reigning active HR record-holder has turned into Ichiro, minus the speed.

Rangers stole 9 bases tonight off of Wakefield? And then they lost the game? Oh, Fenway.

Nelson Cruz had 3 stolen bases all by himself.
And Chase Headley, in a completely different game, had 3 stolen bases also.

When was the last time two players had 3 stolen bases each on the same night?

Is it acceptable for me to vote for Kotchman for the All-Star Game? What about Luke French?

  32. joser on April 20th, 2010 10:02 pm

I have to say, this has been fun. Remember when it was Felix and fours days of “who?”. Well, it still is, but who cares? Now, if Lee comes back in decent (and improving) form in a couple of weeks, and Bedard a few weeks after that…

After tonight’s fine work, M’s will have three starters in the top 20 in WHIP in the A.L.

And all over the country, desperate Fantasy players start adding Mariners pitchers they’ve never heard of to their rosters. It’s a trap!

  33. joser on April 20th, 2010 10:32 pm

It’s acceptable for you to vote for whoever you want, no matter how little sense it makes. You think BoSox fans were worried about whether they shouldn’t be voting for Marco Scutaro?
